The Charbonnet-Labat Funeral Home in New Orleans has fielded dozens of calls lately in response to a growing desire for funerals in which the deceased are displayed in poses reflective of their lives, The New York Times reported Saturday in a feature story.

In recent months, memorial services for New Orleans socialite Mickey Easterling and local resident Miriam Burbank have drawn attention to the practice, the Times noted.

I want to be ground up and tilled into a vegetable garden.

I taped that TZ episode about Planet Cemetery. When run in fast forward, the “corpses” appear to be vibrating since they are actors trying very, very hard to hold perfectly still, since a freeze frame only works if no `living’ character is in the scene.

“Mr. Wickwire” still creeps me out.

When patriots take the country back I know of a few people I’d like to see posed at their funerals. Posed like Mussolini.

La. has some very strict voting laws. We have had a voter I.D. law for decades. My wife and daughter both work the elections and the system down here is pretty redundant so voter fraud would be difficult. La. is one of the states that has the best system to prevent voter fraud.

Is it really any creepier than “posing” the deceased in a box with their heads on a small silk pillow and their hands folded?

I am one of those that believes when they pass on they are gone. The body is only a vessel. I have planned and paid for many funerals in our family. My instructions are.......absolutely no embalming, no viewing, closed casket with a blown up pic on a stand next to it, graveside. I want everyone to remember them alive, not laying in a casket dead.
That’s just me.

I wouldn't mind being buried with a fine bottle of Single-Malt Whiskey so I'm ready for the resurrection!
