Since leaving the Obama administration last February, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has added a handsome $5 million to her personal wealth through high-paid speaking gigs to top-tier organizations. The National Association of Chain Drug Stores, National Automobile Dealers Association, National Association of Convenience Stores have all paid Clinton beau-coup bucks to come speak to their members, a comprehensive analysis of Hillary's speeches done by Mother Jones shows. Then there's the financial institutions: global investment group Fidelity, private equity firm the Carlyle Group, 'too big to fail' bank Goldman Sachs. They too have jumped on the Clinton bandwagon giving the former first lady roughly $200,000 per speech to come shower them with her words of wisdom and lend them some of her precious time.

Why would anyone pay that kind of money to be lied to?

Anyone who thinks Hillary would use any of her own money for a campaign is nuts.

I just remeber the “war chest” she built up last time, and then the stories about how she had a thousand consultants who were all at cross purposes and didn’t accomplish anything. Her last campaign was the Titanic — big, impressive on the outside but bloated and destined for failure on the inside. She may have learned from the last time but she is so arrogant and, quite frankly, stupid, that she probably has not learned much. I bet a big chunk of this war chest will be frittered away.

Don’t say the word, “chest” in regards to Hillary. According to a report linked on Drudge, Hillary has a bad heart.

>Why would anyone pay that kind of money to be lied to?<

I THINK because there is a limit on campaign donations, and paying for an appearance gets money to the candidate without being hampered by laws. I guess she’ll have 1099’s to deal with from these. Anyone feel free to school me on this.

And I guess it greases the wheel if the paid candidate does get elected. The NADA will surely be looking for mercy in CAFE standards - don’t know what the others want.

You’re right!

I wouldn’t go to see or hear her if THEY paid ME!

Think of all the pathetic lemmings who gladly pay and think they’re lucky to go and see her. Sad!

“”Anyone who thinks Hillary would use any of her own money for a campaign is nuts.””

My thought exactly on reading this. She may LEND her campaign money but then she’ll ask for donations from her supporters to raise the bucks to pay it back just the way she and Bill have always done it.
