Gary Oldman Blasts Liberal Hollywood, Defends Mel Gibson and Alec Baldwin
Hollywood Reporter ^ | 06/24/2014

In an explosive rant, the British actor claimed that "political correctness is crap," and advised people to "take a f—ing joke."

Gary Oldman didn't hold anything back in an interview with Playboy magazine, where he defended Mel Gibson's anti-Semitic remarks, Alec Baldwin's public tirades and went after liberal Hollywood.

In a lengthy — and extremely candid — chat for the magazine's July/August issue promoting Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the 56-year-old British actor says he believes "political correctness is crap."

"I don’t know about Mel. He got drunk and said a few things, but we’ve all said those things. We’re all f---ing hypocrites," Oldman later went on to claim. "The policeman who arrested him has never used the word n—— or that f---ing Jew?" he asked.

Gibson was arrested in 2006 for suspected DUI in Malibu and made anti-Semitic remarks to a policeman, saying at the time of his arrest that "Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world."

Oldman continued in the interview to explain, "Mel Gibson is in a town that’s run by Jews and he said the wrong thing because he’s actually bitten the hand that I guess has fed him — and doesn’t need to feed him anymore because he’s got enough dough. He’s like an outcast, a leper, you know?"

The Dark Knight Rises actor also defended Baldwin's use of derogatory and homophobic terms. "Alec calling someone an F-A-G in the street while he’s pissed off coming out of his building because they won’t leave him alone. I don’t blame him. So they persecute."

Oldman later singles out satirical news programs like The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and Real Time With Bill Maher.

The great Zorg!!

I just love Gary Oldman. Liked him before I knew he leaned right, and like him even more now.

He’s dead right. It should be OK to be stupid, racist, homophobic, whatever. And it’s OK for people who are to be accountable for the consequences. It’s called personal liberty.

Political Correctness is based on the assumption that the worst transgression one can possibly commit is to hurt someone else’s feelings. And if the hurtee is a member of a protected group, then it’s a crime worthy of a complete ostracism of the offender.

All of which is complete BS. As kid, the “sticks and stones may break my bones...” saying was often brought into play by my mom, and it desperately needs to be resuscitated.

PC gives complete license to say anything mean or hurtful to selected groups or the elite, and clobbers those who are not in favor. Meaning anyone not on the left.

It’s time to fight back.

we’ve all said those things...

Ruh roh.

I wonder if it's too late for the producers to edit Oldman out of his new movie.

And Oldman has only himself to blame here. If he would have used terms like f---ing cracker or f---ing Catholic, no problems.

Yes he is. He also played the bad guy in “Fifth Element”.
He played the bad guy in “Leon The Professional”. Natalie Portman was the little girl in that movie.

Political Correctness is based on the assumption that the worst transgression one can possibly commit is to hurt someone else’s feelings.

So true. PC is in fact the polar opposite of free speech.

Jefferson's America:
Offended person: You have hurt my feelings.
Speaker: So what?

Obama's America:
Offended person: You have hurt my feelings.
Speaker: I'm so very sorry. It won't happen again. Please don't sue me.

Will Commissioner Gordon be fired from his job for saying these things?

Liberal Gotham will not allow it.

They CAN’T edit him out of
ANYTHING. Oldman is a central supporting actor in some of the highest grossing films of all time, including the Dark Knight trilogy and Harry Potter series.

“The Professional” is such a good movie, and Oldman such a good actor. He’s also the bad guy in “The Book of Eli” with Denzel Washington and Mila Kunis.

I have to say his roles generally creep me out. But his worldview seems to be right on.
