Suppose Hitlery runs for president. It is rumored she has a heart condition. Because of all the excitement, on the day before the election she has a heart attack. What would happen if (a) it is fatal. (b) she survives but she can not speak and is paralyzed. How would this influence the election? Would elections be delayed so the d'RAT's could find a new candidate? What would happen if she still win even though she is either dead or incapacitated?
I'm firmly convinced that if we have a strong conservative candidate in 2016 Lizzie Warren or any other dem will get crushed in the election. Unlike 2012, Obama's numbers are underwater and he'll be an absolute drag on his party, think of GWB in 2008.
Drawing from my fund of absolutely no knowledge, I would say that: Since “Presidential Candidate” is not a Constitutional office, the election would proceed exactly as planned. Hillary! would either win or lose. If she won, she would be elected President. But she would be dead. Therefore, on January 20, her running-mate would be sworn in as President, and then the Constitutional process for the appointment of a Vice President would be followed.
Just because she is dead does not mean she should not run or serve.
Dead dems vote, after all. Why shouldn’t they be allowed to hold office?
It would be up to the Electoral College. It’s complicated.
Agreed. When the time comes her internal polling is going to tell her to retire. I expect to see the GOP nominee facing Andrew Cuomo in 2016.
If the GOP has courage to nominate a Conservative, Hillary is quite beatable, and so is anyone who would take her place.
But, we can’t beat a true liberal with a half hearted, newly minted one.
Only the contrast of a truly convicted Conservative can beat Hillary and the rest of the anti-Americans.
