It turns out the Republican Party can mobilize minority voters after all by despicably playing the race card against its own base.
In a kamikaze move that couldve been sponsored by the Hemlock Society, a ruling class desperate for a Pyrrhic victory decided it was better to save fossilizing Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran than preserve whatever scintilla of party unity remains.
Its one thing to disagree with your base. Its entirely another thing to use the most slanderous assaults on their character from their opponents for your own benefit. But thats just what the Whig
er
Republican Party establishment did in a power play that could very well alter the history of the Grand Old Party once and for all.

“On the other hand, McDaniel destroyed Cochran in DeSoto County, perhaps the most Republican county in the state, where he received about 70 percent of the vote. Nonetheless McDaniel still lost an excruciatingly close election.”
I believe DeSoto is the fourth most populous county in the state. In the primary McDaniel carried all 39 precincts in the county with 62.9% of the vote. We had an appreciable increase in turnout and increased the percentage of the McDaniel vote to 69+%. I saw several furious people outside the polls and was told several times that either they were changing sides or that the Cochran camp going after democrats spurred them to come out and vote. We have 5 municipalities in Desoto County plus the county government and I don’t know of any elected democrats. Republicans hold every elected office and I don’t know of any elected officials that didn’t support Cochran, it’s all about money and holding office, they all claim to be “CONSERVATIVE” but don’t know the meaning of the word to them it’s an obligatory campaign slogan.
Here is an important article on software for your efforts. I talked with a buddy who is very involved with the Richmond TEA Party. He was very much involved with the Brat/Cantor upset, and is using this software in the Richmond area. They did a serious analysis before selecting it, he says it is no doubt the best out there right now.

I believe there will be a write in campaign. Of course under Mississippi Law I’m supposed to support the nominee of the party in whose primary I voted. I’ll just have chance it, along with those 40 thousand democrats.
Until now I was against forming a third party and try and change the Republican Party back to a Conservative party. I see now that is impossible. I will have nothing to do with any party that stoops to such low down and dirty tactics as Cochran did to keep a seat they don’t deserve. No more straight party line voting for me. If you have not earned my vote I will skip that office from now on.
Does this mean that all the stupid DEM voters are supposed to vote for Thad in the general? It isn’t going to happen.
Reportedly a sore loser law prevents Chris from running in the fall. What needs to happen requires pulling a trick from the GOPe=Rat playbook. Run his wife in the fall!!! Either as a write-in or on some third party line if possible. Once in she could resign and let Chris will a special election if she wished. By that playbook she doesn’t need any record or any skills. The needed name recognition is there, just write in “McDaniel.” IIRC, she’s pretty, which helps. She’d have a good coach and a ready made organization. We know Thad can’t outdebate her: Thad wouldn’t debate a stump. Let the two rats split their side of the vote. Let them conduct a war on women.
Easier said that done. He brought out strong support. The opposition dumped millions into black neighborhoods to get Democrats to vote in our party and smear their own party's voters. Think of the resources that takes. The party bosses were committed to protecting their loot and destroying a conservative. There are only so many engaged voters around to swing primary elections. It takes a lot of money and organization to do it, and there is a ceiling. When the party is willing to dump unlimited resources to dilute the voting population and bring in outsiders to skew the results, it's awfully tough to win.
As hard as it may be, the best thing to do is go to the poll and vote for the Democrat. That’s like two votes in a head to head. Sit out or write in, and Cochran loses one vote. He can probably survive some apathy on our side. Tack a bunch of new votes on to the Democrats along with Cochran’s losses, and he may get knocked out.
We should realize by now that the enemy is INCUMBENCY.
For that reason, ilgipper’s suggestion is a sound one. In November, the good people of Mississippi should vote for the Democrat, not because he’s a democrat, but because he’s a means to an end -—draining the swamp of sorry old hacks like Cochran.
What is the difference? I love Louie Gohmert and ,may make an exception. There is no difference between the democrat and the republican? One is an overt liar, the other a covert liar....but you cannot differentiate the difference. I hope Mississippi and the establishment pubes are happy. They just killed the republican party (the nominal conservative party).
They’re going to lose the seat. They energized the democrats, opened a pipeline of money for them and thoroughly POd a large portion of the Conservative base many who won’t vote for cochran or others like me who will write in the name of a Conservative Republican
