Dreamworks How To Train Your Dragon 2 is full of comedy, action and thrills But one thing that might catch movie goers off guard is the films reference to homosexuality.
In the fantasy flick, Gobber, the voice of late night host, Craig Ferguson, made a direct comment about his sexuality. This is why I never married. This and one other reason, the animated character says. So, during an interview with Ferguson to talk about the sequel, HipHollywood got straight to the point and asked the star about his characters sexuality.
I think that the implication would be that he is gay. I think, maybe more will be revealed later on, Craig responded.

promotion of homosexuality really has reached a fever pitch in our culture, hasn’t it?
Thanks for posting. My wife was asking if I’d take my daughter to see this movie, not going to happen.
They have to promote it to children, its called recruiting
Yes. Promotion of homosexuality has reached a fever pitch. If we really want to improve the status, we need to over and over remind people about the physical acts implied by homosexualty and the results of engaging in them.
Geez, I took it as him not having private parts. I didn’t think it was this... ugh. Thanks for ruining the movie for me, Mr. Ferguson.
I probably would never have noticed it, or thought he had a problem. Why assume he doesn’t like women? Oh well, I’ll never go see it now. Too bad, because I loved the first one. Good lord, is Disney going to make homosexual cartoon movies? Glad I don’t have Disney stock.
So they should have called the franchise “How To Drain Your Dragon”?
The book series is read by David Tennant, who is *amazing.* We first got them from Audible and then found them at our library.
My kids listened to them avidly and not one of them can *stand* the thought of the second movie. They watched the first, but after hearing the stories they think it’s a terrible betrayal.
A thought if your kids are begging to watch the movie.
Yeah, somehow it became cool and hip to practice extreme sexual perversion. They’ve succeeded in pushing that agenda throughout the schools. Schools us taxpayers have to pay for. It should be against our freedom of religion rights for them to peddle such garbage.
We’re off the cliff and speeding towards the jagged rocks below.
Lesson learned. You have to have pre-watched anything you expose children to these days. They slip feces in everywhere
Homosexual or not, that has no place in an alleged kids film.
I’m sick to death of all the “catering to ‘adults’” in kids films in my lifetime. Never mind the other problems. As if truly mature classy adults cannot handle no-sex jokes in their kids films.
I don’t know about their claim, but I didn’t see what Goober said as anything sexual. Just because he (the interviewer) wants to claim it, doesn’t make it so. Like when someone claimed Prof Dumbledore was gay (from Harry Potter). Being single and hanging with members of the same sex does not make you perverted, just single.
Sheesh!
Why on earth would you bring perversion to a childrens movie unless..........
Maybe it is not about equality.........
Not only do gays need to recruit new meat, but above all they crave approval of the rest of us. When we refuse to give it, that craving turns to white-hot hatred of the reasons we give. That hatred motivates retribution and a desire to silence us by any means possible. The issue of homosexuality goes to the very core of their self-identity and anyone who tells them the cold death truth, that is that homosexuality is a sin and those who practice it cannot attain eternal life, has in effect reminded them of the death they embrace and identify with.
Oh no, even when I thought it was missing private parts, I didn’t think it appropriate.
It’s a good film otherwise, I mean... Hiccup, the main character wants to “make peace” with the main villain, so he goes out on his own, only to discover that he really CAN’T make peace, that sometimes, force IS necessary to bring about peace. I thought that was refreshing at least.
Is that what the kids are calling it these days? Their “dragon”?
Interesting. I thought How to Train Your Dragon 1 was an awful movie but my views seem to be the extreme minority since it made tons of money and had overwhelming positive reviews from critics.
They should have called the movie "Scottish men who claim to be 'vikings' teach their inexplicably California-accented children how to train Pokeomn"
10/19/2007 British fiction writer, J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series (fantasy novels about the adventures of student wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry), was in Carnegie Hall, NYC, for a stop on her U.S. book tour. She took audience questions and was asked if Dumbledore found "true love". "Dumbledore is gay," she said, adding he was smitten with rival Gellert Grindelwald, who he beat in a battle between good and bad wizards long ago. The audience gasped, then applauded. "I would have told you earlier if I knew it would make you so happy," she said. "Falling in love can blind us to an extent," she added, saying Dumbledore was "horribly, terribly let down" and his love for Grindelwald was his "great tragedy".
