A 13-year-old New Jersey boy was suspended from school Thursday for twirling his pencil around in math class and making another student uncomfortable.

Ethan Chaplin, a 7th-grader at Glen Meadow Middle School in Vernon Township, was twirling around a pencil with a pen cap on it when a student behind him yelled, “He’s making gun motions, send him to juvie!” a local news station reported.

The school suspended Ethan and ordered him to undergo a physical and psychological evaluation, his father, Michael Chaplin, told the station.

I’d be serving a 100 consecutive life terms in juvie. We pointed cap guns and said bang, bang you’re dead.

Well can you blame them? The fascists demand total and utmost concentration during the childrens indoctrination into Marxism.

My cousins and I chased each other around with cap guns and squirt guns. We’d have all been tossed in the pokey - all 14 of us.

I support zero tolerance for pencil twirling.

I like what the bottom says "with original E street drummer Vini Lopez"...What happened? Did Bruce fire him because he didn't promote Marxist ideals while making a fortune from Capitalism?

“school policy requires an investigation when anyone in the school feels uncomfortable or threatened by another student.”

Being in a fascist indoctrination centre, where vengeful “sensitive” fellow inmates have the power to make my life miserable, would make me feel uncomfortable. All day, every day.

I think the percentage is higher than 50%. I vote for the abolishment of the Department of Ed, followed by more local control, and also repeal of these outlandish laws and policies on the books. All of this madness is getting in the way of quality education.

With a good attorney, this kid should own the school after this and maybe the town for hiring the administration and school board. IQ tests need to be published for the teacher, members of the administration and school board NOW.

We used to pack gravel around a cherry bomb with aluminum foil, light it and throw it at the “enemy” when we played “Army” back in the late fifties......

I wasn’t allowed to play with the bow and arrows b/c it was only for the boys for some reason.

My cousin had his eye put out by an arrow shot by another kid while they were chasing each other around.

He’s a good sport and we laugh every time we hear that line from Christmas Story: “You’ll Put Your Eye Out!!”

Because that is exactly what happened to him.

I got the one and only “D” I ever received in archery in the 10th grade — I couldn’t hit the bale of hay for the life of me. I am left handed and I don’t think the teacher knew how to show me to hold the bow.

Imagine we had archery back in the “bad old days!!”

In grade school I was sent to the principal’s office because I connected with a kickball and it went through a school window. The teacher who sent me there set up the kick ball diamond in such a way that all balls were heading toward the school. The principal thought the teacher was nuts (my words) for sending me to the office. Now that’s the kind of administrators we need. COMMON SENSE.

My elderly uncle said he remembers when kids could buy M-80s for the 4th of July.

He had a stash of them he’d saved and exploded one each year for decades.

It was great...

a student behind him yelled, “He’s making gun motions, send him to juvie!”

The rotten fruit of "If you see something, say something", even if it's a twirling pencil. Zero tolerance!

Sounds like the [shouting] kid was joking around, illustrating absurdity by being absurd, but discovered that the sociopathic thugs running the school [into the ground] take "absurd" to a whole nuther level of criminal absurdity.

Maybe the kid who tattled was SWATting him (the modern thing where someone calls 911 against another home “dangerous assault in action” or something and then watches them get hassled by police).

***My cousin had his eye put out by an arrow shot by another kid while they were chasing each other around.***

A half inch higher and I would be one eyed back in 1956. Then a few months later I took an arrow in the shoulder. Good thing it was a field point, not a broad head.
