70+ miles or more. Really shallow, to me, looks like 5-10 miles. Those seem to be the ones that really kick the top layer.

I had a sandwich last night so maybe it’s because of that. It was a good sandwich, though.

Glad there’s no impending warning and hope everyone down there is unaffected.

What’s the recipe for an Earthquake Sandwich?

You lucky people. I now pass on my incredibly-simple and somewhat cheap sandwich recipe.

I get a loaf of bread at Wal-Mart. $1 for over a foot-long onion, French or sometimes Parmesan loaf.

Cut in half from the sides, pop in oven on low-broil and toast until the (up) inside is a light golden-brown. Be careful though. You have a narrow range. Turn on the light and don’t walk away.

Lay down American cheese, ham. Now for center.

Take packaged coleslaw, add 5 tablespoons Mayo (Hellman’s or such), a tablespoon of Ranch dressing or two, and same with Blue Cheese dressing. Salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, diced white onion if you like, parsley leaves and some dill. Stir completely with spoon. Add whole package of cole slaw, mixed or green. Stir well. 1 tablespoon of Italians dressing can be mixed in before the coleslaw.

Lay the coleslaw down on the ham on the sandwich which is on top of the cheese. Slice red tomato thin, and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Lay slices along sandwich.

Now take sliced chicken meat (I choose the non-nitrite versions) and then put Swiss cheese over that.

Top with the other 1/2 of the load and cut into 1.5-2-or-3-inch slices.

Wrap in plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate immediately (after slicing some off for yourselves. Wavy potato chips. Dr. Pepper or Coke.

I hope y’all get to try it. I would normally butter the bread but you don’t want it to get soggy in the fridge.

Let me know if you make one; want to hear how you liked it.

Mix up the coleslaw sauce in a mixing bowl BEFORE you add the package of coleslaw. That way, it will be evenly-distributed.

A sandwich recipe ping to FRiends. Hope it is of some use to some of you.

I used Italian day-old bread a couple days ago. Same technique, except it was 70 cents on sale.

Oh yeah, I also laid down sliced Hamburger dills on the coleslaw before adding the tomato. Big jars of crinkle-cut hamburger slices (not sweet) were 2 for $5 or 2 for $4 on sale at a couple of places.

FWIW

There’s ham! It’s the second layer after the American cheese.

Tomato I have found for $1.58 to $1.74 a pound. It takes about 2/3 to 3/4 of a tomato for that sandwich.

Oh, sometimes I sub non-nitrate Turkey for the chicken.

It is really tough getting non-nitrite. Forget anything smoked, including bacon.

Sometimes, there’s no other choices.

lol - believe me, I have searched over 20 packages trying to find a single bacon that was non-nitrite. Haven’t yet. But admittedly that was at Wally World.

Look for Bacon with Ni-TRATES, instead of Ni-TRITES. I have shown in the lab that High Fructose Corn Syrup converts the -TRITES-to-TRATES, but only if the syrup is sourced from GMO Corn from Monsanto. Ni-TRATES are like good for your heart. Must be. They are in many heart pills

Stay Gluten-Free and avoid vaccinations, which have been shown to cause Adult Autism during Global Warming episodes. Right now though, I am off to a permaculture meeting at which I shall demonstrate my at-home technique for extracting quite drinkable ethanol from Sam's Club gasoline. (Hint: mix with Welch's Grape Juice. Makes a passable Bordeaux.)

There sure is. While earthquakes happen every day somewhere in the world, living close to a major fault line makes paying attention to any increase more important.

Try it! Or you could eliminate the mayo and increase the Ranch and Blue Cheese dressing just a little bit — another tablespoon or two each.
