Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger poked fun at the Monty Python stars on Monday ahead of the comedy troupe's reunion concerts this week as "a bunch of wrinkly old men trying to relive their youth and make a load of money."
Appearing in a video shown at the Monty Python Live (mostly) news conference at a central London theater, Jagger is asked by his assistant if he wants tickets for the shows. The singer, who is watching the World Cup football on TV with bandmate Charlie Watts, replies: "Who wants to see that again? It was funny in the 60s."
He adds: "The best one died years ago. Maybe back in the 70s it was fantastic -- it was the funniest thing. We've seen it all before. I mean they've put it all up on YouTube."

I’ve heard Jagger interviewed on several venues. He knows how to tweak the media very well. I have a feeling he’s in on the joke.

To everyone who thinks Jagger is serious about this -- he made the statement in a video produced FOR the Python event. He clearly is joking and making fun of himself.
So I find this pic of a young Mick Jagger and he was just as ugly then as he is now, just minus the wrinkles, bags, droops and wear and tear from hard livin'.

Old is someone who is at least 10 years older than you.
It was a promotion and Mick is pretty clearly making fun of the Stones as well as Monty Python. I saw the Stones in 2006 when I got some excellent seats for half price. They clearly still enjoyed what they do and it was a very good show. As long as Python, the Stones, or whoever are putting on a good show and giving folks their money’s worth then I say go for it.

Jagger isn’t good looking and he can’t sing that well either. But he made a fortune in music so he must be doing something right.
I liked the goodies more than python.
Yeah, that is funny!! You should all have known that is a joke because it’s exactly what EVERYONE says about them (stones). Quite funny, actually.
Just watched this the other night. My husband’s favorite. Basil is certainly out of control on this one!
I was just thinking the same thing. People: This is a JOKE. Mick is PROMOTING the Python shows.

Hope the Python show goes well tonight. All very nostalgic. Amazed that it’s happening at all. Getting them all together in a room was a real challenge until recently. They had so many individual projects on the go.
BTW, I'd pay ANYTHING to see the Pythons if they gave a final tour in the U.S.
