Neymar, 22, picked up left thigh and right knee injuries in the second-round win on penalties against Chile.

"The worst is the knee - it's what's hurting the most," said Brazil spokesman Rodrigo Paiva.

"He will be evaluated again, but team doctor Jose Luiz Runco said fans don't have to worry because he's not a concern for the match."

"I'll be completely honest, watching them play Azerbaijan, inside, part of me was thinking, I hope the game doesn't go very well today," Plaschke quotes Donovan as saying.

Especially with Dempsey right there, it makes sense.

You don't have to wait 4 years to feed your U.S. Soccer addiction

In particular, the 2016 Copa America Centenario, will be a fun tournament. The best South American teams along with the US and Mexico, with all games played here in the US.

I think this could become a permanent fixture that could rival the UEFA Euro Tournament.

One of the things about the US performance in the WC, it’s definitely going to make me pay much more attention to the U-17 and the U-21 teams and track how they are doing. I am really curious what moves Klinsi is going to make. I suspect he is going to bring in a lot of young players for next year’s Gold Cup. Bradley and Dempsey may have played their final games for the USMNT. It’s all about getting ready for 2018 and that begins today.

What a game by Howard, without his effort, it could have been 4-0 at 90 minutes.

Algeria and Nigeria also had sharp goalkeeping but in the end, all of their teams lost.

I hope Belgium destroys Argentina.

Belgium might stand a chance but they’ve got to get rid of this “not scoring in the first 70 minutes” stuff they have done in every single game along maybe with the subs scoring mostly. They could just as easily be going home instead of us. That almost came back to bite them bad last night in the 92nd minute. I don’t know how you solve it, they just suffer from it. A bit like I think you said, how we don’t really get our act in gear until we are behind.

So Belgium might be able to do something but they obviously have that weakness if one wants to call it a weakness. I’m no expert.

Not as if the Argies have been lighting it up, neither.

Should be a comfortable thought to Belgium in that Argentina has Messi.

I’ve been to the Everton boards this morning.

Never thought I’d see the day where to normally jaded English soccer fans would be using the term “Legend” to describe an American soccer player, like Tim Howard.

Add Mexico to that list.

Is there any point watching the first 70 minutes of Argentina-Belgium?

This 2014 team could have really used the 2010 version of Landon Donovan - would have made a huge difference in terms of keeping possession.

Just wishful thinking, I know, but my point is that I really don't see a "next Donovan" in any of the young players out there right now. Hopefully one emerges in the next couple years.

I think Green has potential. And don’t write off Altidore just yet.

Considering how much of the game plan was centered on Altidore, the fact they managed as well as they did without him is that much more impressive. Hopefully Klinsmann will remember that every player needs a backup on a 23-man roster.

You certainly are correct, how quick we forget, there has been so much action, now I can go back to a degree of normalcy.

Long ago, American Goalkeepers have created a stir overseas, evident by this article.

Spurs keeper and all-round Premier League legend Brad Friedel answers FourFourTwo's inane ramblings back in July 2008. - The Top English Language Soccer Magazine 2008

Article is a bit stupid for my views per the one question so ignore that.

Kasey Keller and Marcus Hahnemann, the latter to a smaller degree has been popular over there too.

Friedel definitely is looked at as one of the best goalkeepers from America to ever play in the premier league. And still playing from what I know.

Brits don’t throw the term “Legend” around loosely, but this morning they are universally using that term for Howard.
