Witching is not ONLY finding water but finding the best spot for a strong well. You can dig and find water for a well but getting a good pressure on the well is another thing.

I knew a guy that could find buried gas lines with a couple of bent welding rods.

Could very well be the same principle, but what makes you think the Ouija board is controlled by demons? It’s more likely controlled by your subconscious.

I don't believe in demons, or witching sticks, or bent metal wires. I was being jokingly sarcastic in my reply.

Related science.

"Abstract

Gravity and magnetic exploration, also referred to “potential fields” exploration is used to give geoscientists an indirect way to “see” beneath the Earth’s surface by sensing physical properties of rocks (density and magnetization, respectively). Gravity and magnetic exploration can help locate minerals, faults, geothermal or petroleum resources, and ground-water reservoirs. Potential field surveys are relatively inexpensive and can quickly c over large areas of ground. The primary goal of studying potential fields is to provide a better understanding of the subsurface geology. The methods are relatively cheap, non-invasive and non-destructive environmentally speaking. They are also passive – that is, no energy needs to be put into the ground in or der to acquire data. The small portable instruments (gravimeter and magnetometer) also permit walking traverses. "

And to along with hunting subs in a P3 Orion that use a "Magnetic Anomaly Detector" - MAD.

Or people using a common 'metal detector' to find coins or whatever.

You think that is the principle behind how two sticks or wires can detect underground water?

Did he have a gun rack with a Broom on it and a wizard hat under the seat?

“I knew a guy that could find buried gas lines with a couple of bent welding rods.”

I knew a guy that could catch a speeding bullet in his teeth!

“Witching is not ONLY finding water but finding the best spot for a strong well. “

Not a single dowser has EVER proved he could detect water under a controlled test. Why do suckers believe in magic?

“Why do suckers believe in magic?”

This has been covered already.

“It’s not magic, but likely physics. The water probably creates some small EM field, and the wires detect it.”

Scientifically proven already. You should read the entire thread before commenting. Seriously.

(after reading this thread it’s important I acknowledge my post is sarcastic)

LoL. And you think it doesn't. What's your problem? Using two wire rods does detect. I've put up more than you have. You got nothing but shit. Here it is again from the abstract of the scientific paper.

"Gravity and magnetic exploration can help locate minerals, faults, geothermal or petroleum resources, and ground-water reservoirs."

I also provided the link above.

“LoL. And you think it doesn’t.”

Correct. Holding two sticks or wires in your hand and walking around waiting for them to tug or cross each other is not a functional magnetometer.

It can be that simple for ferromagnetic material.

“It can be that simple for ferromagnetic material.”

And is ground water ferromagnetic?
