Tim Howard may very well be the most popular man in America at this moment. So much so, an official White House petition was started Tuesday night to rename the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport after Howard -- seriously.

I had to look him up. I have never seen him or read about him before. But, then I’d have to be dying of boredom to look at soccer. (Actually, if I were that bored I can think of dozens of things I’d do before resorting to soccer.)

I don’t follow World Cup soccer but all I know is the USA lost and yet advanced based on that defeat in the last round. They won one of three games in that first round. Then they lost again.

Instead....rename BWI/Feelgood Marshall Airport after Tim Howard. Howard is more black (mixed race) than Marshall (mixed race)...and didn’t watch soap operas during work time.

If his Backs were worth anything, he would not have even have had to make the attempt. 16 saves is amazing and far more than he should have had to have faced.
