AAA Offering Free Towing for Drunk Drivers on 4th of July

Florida drivers who drink too much on Independence Day can have their cars towed for free by AAA.

AAA and Bud Light have partnered in the “Tow to Go” program that offers free towing services to any Florida resident on certain holidays, according to the AAA website.

The program is meant to protect the streets from drunk drivers and car collisions and will tow drivers and their cars safely home, as long as it is within a 10-mile radius.

AAA has safely removed more than 23,000 intoxicated drivers from the roads since 1998.

To have your car towed or for more information, call 855-2-TOW-GO.

They really should do something like this year round. For example, pay 100 dollars a month and they will come get you anytime you are too drunk. That might really change things and save a live or two.

I agree with you. We essentially create a car culture for hitting the bars, and then tell people that do it that they’re felons (or close enough to that).

Give people REASONABLE OPTIONS and only then throw the book at them if they choose to drive instead.

Very very funny. What’s to stop people from getting smashed and then calling AAA to come and start their clunkers that have been sitting on the lawn for years?

Do they even have to get drunk? They probably don’t test people.

I think this is great. If I could charge $100 for taking a drunk driver home, I could make a living doing that. My busiest night would be Thursday night. This is actually when most working people go out drinking with their co-workers. Sort of a launching pad for the weekend.

I would also do brisk business on Friday and Saturday nights.

I'd take Mondays and Tuesdays off. Not many people drink on those nights. Except during NFL season in which many people drink also on Monday nights.
