A Saudi woman discovered that she was married to her sibling for 50 years and had eight children from him before his death, a newspaper reported on Sunday.
After his recent death, the woman was told that she and her husband had been breastfed by the same mother and that they are not permitted by Islam to marry each other, the Arabic language daily Okaz said.
The paper quoted relatives as saying the woman at first did not believe what she was told at her husband’s funeral and decided to travel to his birthplace to check.
“Relatives of her husband confirmed to her that they are siblings and that she is not permitted to marry him because he is Mahram (unmarriageable kin),” it said in a report from the western Saudi town of Median.
The paper quoted the unnamed woman as saying:”Although I was satisfied that my husband died, I am very upset at what has happened…but it’s God will.”
In this case, they weren’t actually siblings but “milk-siblings”. As if breastfeeding a few times change the DNA.
I suspect in this case, someone wanted to push the woman’s children out of the line of inheritance and starts the rumor “they were breast fed, they are siblings, well, those kids are illegitimate and can’t inherit now, so more for the rest of us”.

Keep in mind that in many muslim countries, the inbreeding coefficient is >0.50 in many, many marriages because of repeated, interrelated, cousin-marriage. These people are brothers and sisters for all genetic purposes even though they don’t share the same parents. So, this isn’t really all that unusual.

Excellent material. It helps to explain a culture which is sick. Physically, emotionally, psychologically, genetically sick. And massively dysfunctional. I have for some time believed that if members of all other races and religions were to magically disappear from the face of the earth the strife and chaos would still continue. It would be just a short time before muslims started turning on each other. History very clearly shows that the biggest killers of muslims through the ages have not been Christians, Jews or any other religious groups. No, the bigest killers of muslims have been other muslims. If muslims feel compelled to act out their cultural imperatives of violence and death so be it. but let them do it in their own countries, and not the whole world wide.
