In pictures: Climate change could make red hair a thing of the past if Scotland gets sunnier

A DNA expert has has made the bold claim that ginger hair gene could die out if Scotland climate improves.

REDHEADS could become extinct as Scotland gets sunnier, experts have claimed.

The gene that causes red hair is thought to be an evolutionary response to the lack of sun in Scotland.

Redhead colouring allows people to get the maximum vitamin D from what little sun there is.

Only one to two per cent of the world’s population has red hair but in Scotland the figure is about 13 per cent, or 650,000 people.

That would be true for the lady down the block. She had 3 or 4 redheads fast.

And maybe a few more you didn't see, scattered throughout the neighborhood. ;)

I don't see red-heads fading.

I remember learning in college that Christopher Columbus was probably a redhead.

Well that is encouraging.

I wasn't attracted to redhead guys. Maybe I should have taken a second look at some. Actually I can only remember a couple true redheads in school.

Prince Harry is sexy but he seems like a gigolo, an aberration.

I wound up married 3 times. I'm not on the market anymore, having semi-retired from all that, but I encourage my grandchildren. ;)

Only once for me. When I was divorced I was in my prime and had my by then naturally wavy auburn hair, slim, attracted lots of guys.

I had enough of it. It isn't something i would have imagined for my life but one learns to adapt. I don't even get too lonely any more because my life has been so crazy, nobody could relate to it. And I keep busy learning new things.

You don't want to be on the market now. Didn't know if you found your someone or adapted like I did. For these times and with my age and health problems, I wouldn't wish myself on anybody plus I would not even know how to act any more.

My grandchildren are a sore subject.

It's past time to knock it off for the night.

I would be pretty upset if redheaded women were to become a thing of the past. I have quite a fondness and attraction towards them...;)
