US: ‘Gay Blood Drive Day’ to call for end of gay blood ban
Pink News ^ | 7-7-2014

A Gay Blood Drive Day will be held on Friday, to protest the continuing blanket ban on gay and bisexual men donating blood in the US.

The Food and Drug Administration currently imposes a blanket ban on donating blood for all men who have had sex with men, because of the “increased risk” of sexually transmitted diseases.

The ban was initially put in place in the 1980s following the AIDS epidemic, and critics say it does not reflect modern advances in screening technology However, they have faced calls to implement a system that reflects actual risk, as opposed to discriminatory risk.

And I bet those illegal immigrants flooding over the border will soon be in the blood supply

Homosexual blood drive.
Prostitute blood drive.
IV drug user blood drive.
Undocumented immigrant blood drive.
Homeless blood drive.

Yeah, that’s it, that’s the ticket!

I'm excluded too as a Desert Storm veteran because of potential Gulf War Syndrome. I recently inquired if the ban had been lifted and it hasn't. Doesn't bother me. Sure there are gay men who are in monogamous relationships—but there are enormous numbers that are INCREDIBLY promiscuous. You can see how the AIDS spread so quickly in the gay community in the excellent book by Randy Shilts, And the Band Played On. Shilts, by the way, was in a monogamous relationship and disapproved of that lifestyle, but one of his partners wasn't monogamous. Shilts died of AIDS. The safety of the blood supply is paramount. As long as it is prohibitive to test the blood beforehand, I have no problem with the blanket bans, even though I 'm banned as well.

Obama will soon be pushing to allow infected homosexuals to donate their blood out of “fairness”.

The CDC will never allow this to happen.

Really? In our highly ideological, politicized Federal Government?

I’ve been donating blood regularly for about 30 years. The Red Cross has never asked for one’s “sexual preferences” when I’ve donated. They do ask whether or not one has ever had sex with another man, used illegal intravenous drugs, or have been incarcerated. They also inform the donater that their screening tests for infection are not 100% accurate. That’s good enough reason to ban homosexually active men from donating blood.

Sure there are gay men who are in monogamous relationships ...

Temporarily.

A study I read recently reported that in no male-homosexual relationship studied had the partners been sexually exclusive for five years or more.

The CDC will never let it happen. Don't be taken in by a story that appears in the Pink. Consider the source, its all drama.

ONE of his partners? Was he monogamous one gay lover at a time?

Their slogan should be, “Gay blood for gay patients!”

Their slogan should be, “Gay blood for Presidents!”

A church friend of my youth who was hemophiliac died of AIDS in 80s because the clotting factor he needed to live was contaminated by this crowd and their perversion. I shall neither forgive nor forget nor will I be cowed by the current PC crowd who would say I’m a hater. So be it...

That would be included in my formulation, if Obama needed a transfusion.

Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Benjamin Britten, and Aaron Copeland were all reportedly homosexuals.

Tchaikovsky’s music is wonderful. I like Schubert too, I can take or leave Britten, and loathe Copeland’s music(even though he was an American Composer!).

So there you go. I judge a person by their fruits (excuse the pun!) rather than their inward desires.

What are the “fruits” of these “gay” activists? Politically Correct Speech, perverted parades, people losing their jobs for stupid reasons, the degradation of education, the corruption of children, and DISEASE.

I don’t judge them for who they are.

I judge them by their “contributions” to society.

If you are not getting emergency surgery, bank away a few units of your own blood. Otherwise you don’t know what you’re getting. I had an aortic graft done and got my 2 units back on the day I got released.

The CDC still considers AIDS to be an epidemic. You will never see that reported on the nightly news.

This should be good. Ask a homosexual what type of blood transfusion he/she wants - gay or non-gay blood. I’ll bet dollars to donuts that they’ll ask for the safer non-gay blood.

Syphilis, HIV, gonorrhea, HPV warts, chlamydia. Giving blood... It’s just an excuse to say I’m gay to a nurse.

Not that I am a Jehovah’s Witness or a Christian Scientist... but if something happens and in order to live I need to be injected with blood or plasma... I think I may as well die.

As it is, I refuse to be a part of the government/medical industrial complex... and will not seek out a doctor for any reason... so long as my medical records may be digitized and perused by anyone that wants to take away my 2A rights.

Only they deserve to have rainbow blood — I’m not worthy of such “special” transfusions!
