The White House is planning to back off its request for legal authority to swiftly deport thousands of children who have streamed through the U.S. in recent weeks, congressional sources told the Associated Press, a change it hopes will ease passage of a $2 billion emergency spending request to cope with the influx.
Some of the child migrants make the dangerous trip alone, but others are accompanied by parents, usually their mothers.
When Obama formally asks Congress for more than $2 billion in emergency spending Tuesday to deal with the border crisis, the request will not be accompanied by the policy changes that the White House had indicated it planned to seek, according to two congressional aides.
The aides spoke Monday on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak about the matter by name ahead of the announcement.

the only way Obama should be getting any money for this fiasco is by pulling an equivalent amount from the billions we give Mexico, Guatamala, Salvador and Honduras annually in foreign aid.
Hey Barry! How bout we put American “kids” FIRST! Or do you have a problem with American kids?
that’s the obama strategy, whenever there’s a crisis-
step 1 - come out and say how appalled he is by it and that he’s going to fix it.
step 2 - either do nothing or make it worse.
step 3 - The media dutifully covers it all up.
step 4 - The Americsn public falls back to sleep, thinking everything is fine.
They should pass an amendment to it, authorizing the funds, if and only if Obama immediately resigns.
Zeer0 wants to make sure the drug resistant TB takes hold on the US population before we send the infected kids back.
Perhaps a thinking House would pass a bill to divert funding from the EPA, IRS and Dept of Educ. as a start toward providing funds to secure the damned border!
That $2 billion is to get the kids advocates, escorts and legal representation. He wants the money to make them citizens as fast as possible - especially for the 16 year olds.....take a guess why.
