convivial; adj.
1. friendly; agreeable: a convivial atmosphere.
2. fond of feasting, drinking, and merry company; jovial.
3. of or befitting a feast; festive.
Etymology: 1660–70; < Late Latin convīviālis festal, equivalent to Latin convīvi ( um ) feast ( convīv ( ere ) to live together, dine together ( con- con- + vīvere to live) + -ium -ium) + -ālis -al1

Despite the gloom of current events, the classroom will be a convivial one today because my baby is celebrating her 20th bday. 20 years ago today, I laid in a birthing room with the OJ preliminary hearing going on on tv; the knife was in the envelope being bandied about.
My kids are going up to a family reunion for the family on their moms side. I’m sure some of it will be fun, but overall, a less than convivial atmosphere. So glad I don’t do that crap with them anymore.
It’s in a campground, few of them can afford a hotel.

Growing older is a trivial accomplishment. The challenge for us now will be to figure out how to grow younger.

Well, not growing older while growing younger without growing wider at least.
(But my high school blue jeans still fit as painting pants at least. Worn out a bit of course, but St Ronnie has made me replace my old shirts over the years though as the collars wear through.)
