Soccer - Germany swamping Brazil
Vanity | 7/8/2014 | Vendome

Posted on 07/08/2014 2:50:48 PM PDT by Vendome

I normally can't stand a sport where kicking a ball around results in a zero score and people cheer about that lame-oh Kurr-Rapp.

However, Brazil sucks and is being trounced right now 7-1.

I think Germany felt sorry and just allowed a score as a sign of sportsmanship.

Normally (Hah!) I'd never watch woccer/soccer but, I just had a giant plate of ribs and I like seeing these chumps get trounced.

Stoopit ball. Stoopit net. Stoopit country. Stoopit game....

stoopitest

They are still playing at the World Cup? I thought that ended about two weeks ago.

Those crazy soccer players! Somebody turn off the lights and tell them to go home.

The German goalie came out to yell at his teammate for missing #8 with a wide open shot and was out of position.

Looks like they either played without balls or got kicked in them.

Fer sure they need dental work....

They should hang themselves.

That was the worstest game evuh.

Worst team loss in history, for a home game.

Apparently it was announced to the German fans in the stadium to stay put so they could organize an escort out of the stadium.

Stay classy, Brazil (First loss at home since 1975).

I have a feeling it will be Germany-Argentina on Sunday.

I look forward to it.

This Brazilian team was outgunned and outclassed today by a superb German squad.

They should be proud to make it to the World Cup final.

Was in Pitt. for a week or so and at one point I tried to get into one of the bars nr PNC Park for a quick meal before the Pirates game (which they won, exciting 9th inning) but of course the USA World Cup game (which they LOST) was on so it was mobbed.
Had a quick burger in the park instead. Yesterday before I flew back I ate at the Hofbrauhaus there and it was kinda dead for a Monday lunch and the barkeep said they had a good crowd for Germany game last week...am guessing today they were doing a nice amount of business...

I thought that ended about two weeks ago.

It was over for most Americans when we got knocked out by Belgium. Soccer is a crappy, boring sport and 95% of American citizens (not counting the illegals here) only care about it when they have their home country to root for. Kinda like the Olympics, no one actually cares about track and field but it's mildly amusing when we can cheer for the red, white and blue.

Yes, if the score is 0-0 after 6 days the spectators get to take cyanide.

Holy crap!

This is a massacre. This will end a ton of careers, and heaven help them, some nutter is going to try to assault these guys.

When the Colombian team almost lost to the U.S. back in 94, didn’t one of the players commit suicide? People down there are that nuts about this game.

I actually expect, at a minimum, the goalie will comit Sepaku. ..what an idiot!

No, I’m aware this is supposed to have been a great World Cup - I just think it is a slow, boring sport that American’s will never really take too. Sure it’ll get a boost during the World Cup and Olympics, but the ratings will crater immediately afterwards. I do believe MLS cup viewership was down by around 40% last year. Even with more Hispanics coming in, it doesn’t seem to help.
