NPR Blogger Hammered After What She Said About ‘Diverse Sources’ and ‘White Guys’

NPR’s education team sent out a curious tweet Wednesday that prompted an online backlash.

“I reach out to diverse sources on deadline,” the tweet from @npr_ed said. “Only the white guys get back to me.” The tweet seemed uncharacteristic for NPR, an outlet that fired analyst Juan Williams after he made remarks about feeling “nervous” if he sees people dressed in “Muslim garb” on an airplane.Kamenetz said she had mistakenly sent the tweet from the NPR education account instead of her own and that she regretted it.

the woman tells a truth and is crucified for it.

That's how it works in Liberal Land. Give her a few more years to stew over this, not just the reaction to the tweet, but the frustration that led to it. She will eventually, perhaps, start to get that uneasy feeling that all cultures do not operate the same, and that some cultural norms are not particularly conducive to success.

She might eventually realize that while "all cultures are equal, yes, totally, totally equal, they are like SO equal, OMG, so incredibly equal..." it may turn out that "equal" doesn't mean what you thought it did. Anymore.
