Thad Cochran Replaces Campaign Manager Amid Ugly Post-Primary Battle
Breitbart News ^ | 7-9-14 | Matthew Boyle

Sen. Thad Cochran's campaign manager, Kirk Sims, has been replaced by his state director Brad Davis, according to a GOP source close to the campaign.

The source, who has first-hand knowledge of the information from speaking to campaign officials, also said the campaign has retained the legal firm Butler Snow for unknown reasons.

Sims, a former chief of staff to Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant, leaves his campaign manager post having won a bitter primary fight against odds but also amid allegations of vote-buying and other improprieties that have engulfed the election's outcome in acrimony.

Noel Fritsch, a spokesman for Cochran's primary challenger Chris McDaniel, who is reviewing ballots for irregularities and has vowed to challenge the election results in court, said the personnel change showed “Cochran's campaign is in a state of wild disarray.”

“Sen. Cochran should return to Mississippi and take control of his campaign by addressing the allegations of criminal misconduct surrounding his campaign’s strategy of pushing Democrats to the polls on June 24,” Fritsch added.

Something is going on here. Sims is one of the people who the pastor said was involved with the vote buying. If he leaves the country, it could circumvent any legal repercussions. STOP HIM!

Cochran can’t help it if the guy decided to go swimming with concrete swim fins. Could happen to anybody.

Could just be that they would rather have an expert with a Nerf bat for "fighting" the Democrats after having a no-rules knife fighter for the intraparty fight.

Thaddeus is going to serve another term alright, just not in the place he was planning.

Thad probably doesn’t even realize he’s running...or that he is a senator.

I think there is major panic. If you follow Chuck C. Johnson on twitter, he has so much info and he’s the one really holding people’s feet to the fire.

I think he needs to replace his seeing eye dog too, so he doesn’t keep wandering around in circles in the Senate Building.

Cochran folks figuring the gig is up...especially hiring a legal firm...

The title you created " Panic? Cochran Replaces Campaign Manager " did not match the published title and had to be changed.

Is Thad lucid enough to know who is his campaign manager. The people of MS must not be as lucid as we would have hoped.

It sounds like Sen. Thad Cochran’s dinosaur pea brain has figure out that his campaign, like the RMS Titanic, has hit the iceberg and is sinking. Good luck with that Thad. It didn’t help Capt. Smith on the Titanic and it won’t help you with vote fraud. The question for me is whether Haley Barbour’s swarmy butt gets nailed for his part in this operation.

Perfect candidate for immunity. But no prosecutor is involved yet.

I wonder if a US Attorney in Mississippi has the prerogative to take this case or do Holder’s people have to approve?

Could be interesting to watch.

Meanwhile, the corrupt GOPe/DemocRAT officials in Mississippi are likely busy arranging for the destruction of evidence.

It's their modus operandi.

Why do you have to replace your campaign manager if the SOS has already certified your win? He’ll be singing with the choir before he has to campaign again in years.

Replacing campaign manager isn’t any kind of solution. It’s what actions were done by many not one person!

Cochran is a drooling imbecile that is oblivious to his surroundings. Someone else replaced his Campaign manager.

Campaign manager is the fall guy. Firing maybe provides insulation from criminal charges. Cochran will try and pin all the blame on him.

Cochran can be kicked out of Congress if he is charged with election crime and there is solid evidence which it looks like there is. And he need not be directly involved, he need only be in a position where he had a chance to act responsibly and stop the crime.

And if he’s kicked out of Congress he can lose his pension and the congressional perks that go with retirement.

So he’s possibly is a lot of trouble. He has two options, he can continue to fight or he can resign. If he resigns he may be able to cut a deal to avoid facing charges. If he continues to fight he risks dragging the whole GOPe down with him.

I would not want to be in Cochran’s position now.
