They must be down to their fifth-stringers by now.

OH! I’M SO HURT! (Cannot go on with such tripping, Coach. Take me out.)

‘Looks like even the Ref is getting tired of the diving, issuing a Yellow card to Brazil… although maybe it wasn’t really merited in this case. It is getting tiring seeing all the begging for penalties.

Brazil should have been playing a man down since the second minute. How Silva’s back-collar-pull-down of Robben earned a yellow card and not a red, I have no idea.

Netherlands defeats Brazil 3-0 and Brazil’s losing streak has been extended.

Congrats, Netherlands! What a superb game and an exciting end to a memorable World Cup tournament.

To paraphrase the CBC announcer, Netherlands defeat Brazil 3-0 for the right NOT to be called a double-Lewser ....

Brazil played a better defensive game than on Tuesday night but it was simply no match for the aggressive Dutch football machine which made short work of a demoralized Brazil.

Some of the German players may actually be uncles of the Argentines (i.e. once-”removed” ;)

So Brazil scores only one goal in the last 2 games? Where’s Pele when they really need him?

Given all that the current government has invested in having this and the 2016 Olympics (Rio de Janeiro), I think that there might be trouble brewing. In spite of all the hype about the BRIC nations (Brazil, Russia, India and China) as investment worthy countries, there is a lot of unrest and class warfare going on in Brazil. While the current Brazilian President, Dilma Rousseff, has tended towards a crony-capitalism policy, a significant move from her youthful Marxist views, her inter-America friendships are strongly on the left.

Now, without the semi-religious joy of a winning Brazilian Team, and with a disappointing tourism bump, the worry is that the turkey’s might come home to roost. A single goal in the last two games with the opponents scoring 10 will leave a sour taste that not even all of Brazil’s sugar cane can wipe out.

According to Matthew Kaminski on The Journal Editorial Report on Fox this afternoon, the Germans were a bit embarrassed about beating Brazil 7-1. "4-0 would have been enough."
