Republicans Want Obama Impeached — And John Boehner Is Trying To Stop Them
The Bustle ^ | 7/14/14 | Seth Millstein

Apparently, Sarah Palin still has some influence after all: Shortly after the former half-term Alaska Governor called for President Obama’s impeachment, over two-thirds of Republicans said Obama should be impeached in a new poll. That’s an increase since a similar survey was taken in early 2013, wherein “only” half of Republicans supported removing Obama from office.

I don’t understand why so many in the Republican party are hesitant to go along with or even entertain the notion of impeachment.

We Impeached Clinton for a HELL of a lot less.

This President has REPEATEDLY overstepped his authority and his lies are brazen and well documented.

If you can’t impeach Obama, we might as well strip the Congress of any and all authority to do so, because it’s useless for them to have this power if it won’t be used under these circumstances.

The senate will never impeach the Kenyan maggot. Let’s take
down the IRS and some other like organization. Once Lerner
is put in jail for 10 years, she is going to be shouting to heaven that she did so at the express direction of her superiors. Then the dominoes can begin to
fall. Including BO and the rest of his organized crime ring.

Just keeping the subject open is all.

I hear you... but some in FR actually think Obama's removal from office via impeachment is actually possible. With the GOP realistically set to gain a net of 3-4 Senate seats, it's simply not going to happen.

The House COULD “go nuclear” and actually vote to defund EVERYTHING in the executive branch.

You know good and well that the racial politics that have built up over the last century prevent impeachment.

What impeachment *would* do, if properly conducted, is remind Americans of all the Obama scandals which are destroying America. No, the sewage will not be flushed, until 2017, but it is necessary to incessantly remind Americans what a monster Obama is. Bob

What matters here is that the Dems wanted to impeach Bush much more than Republicans want to impeach Obama. There were even Articles of Impeachment submitted in most of the Congresses during Bush’s tenure.

But they recieved scant notice, and even less coverage.

So, if this impeachment movement has less support and hasn’t even had a bill dropped in the hopper, then why the coverage?

Because overhyping the existence of a Conservative “Impeach Obama” movement is going to help incite the Dem base and motivate them to get to the polls in November.

First the inoculated Zer0 with crazy Joe Biteme, then they inoculate Zer0 with the Victim Card and finally, they inoculate Zer0 with the Race Card. John Boehner has no inoculations. He even cries and everyone laughs.

Yes, he has.. but the numbers in the Senate aren't remotely close to reaching the level of even an infinitesmally small chance of removal from office. All the dems and many repubs would sooner have their legs chewed off by piranhas before voting to boot Obama. It's simply not in the cards.

That may (or may not) be.

To be honest my primary concern is to encourage us to consider this, as an eventual remedy.

And frankly, to help defend Palin.

She was very brave to stand up. I support her 100%, so I am supporting her position.

:D

Harry Reid says some truly and remarkably ignorant and inflammatory things. There is no doubting this. But, is he really actually helping save us from Obama? In the last year as Majority Leader, he has effectively made every piece of legislation that makes it to the Senate floor so objectionable (by stuffing the amendment tree) that there is no way the bill could pass and most indeed never get voted on. Maybe he’s trying to save Democrats from Obama by preventing them from having to vote on controversial legislation. Whatever his motives, he is the one person who has ground Washington to a halt and for that we have been spared some measure of harm from the Obama agenda.

ya ya ya.. but with out the senate...

Has that stopped Reid from trying to over turn the supreme court on hobby lobby??

Even if the senate tips to rino control. It’s chances are only slightly better in the senate.

exactly. Impeachment would not just happen.

it would be like watching court TV.

All of Obama’s dirty laundry would be aired for all to see during the hearings.

I don’t think the MSM could sweep it under the rug.

Truthfully, even if the Republicans had a huge victory in the next elections, it is impossible to impeach and remove Obama. A simple majority to impeach in the House, no problem, but a 2/3rds majority to remove in the senate. Big problem.

This means 67 senators must be conservatives. Democrats will *never* vote to remove, and neither will RINOs.

This points out that those demanding impeachment want to do so as a “moral victory”.

You can have real victories, or moral victories. You cannot have both. Moral victories are for losers.

The bottom line is that Obama is an empty shell, a socialist nobody. As a person, he is dog food. What matters is his vile and corrupt agenda, and the harm it is doing to the United States.

So our real victory is not to waste time and resources to impeach this human offal; but to “get our ducks in a row” to tear down every nightmare he has created, and hopefully in the first 100 days of the next POTUS.

This fills our plate to overflowing. Right now, during the 113th congress, we can do nothing. If Republicans win the Senate and keep the House in the 114th congress, we will still have to fight the RINOs that remain; and hopefully we will remove them from their positions of authority.

Then, finally, in the 115th congress, we can but pray that Obama is replaced by a conservative president, and a conservative dominated congress.

And they will have 100 days to dismantle 100 years of progressivism.

Which would be a gigantic win, compared to a moral victory of impeaching, but not removing, Obama, the lame duck toad frog.

Let us focus on victory, not moral victory.

You are both right, but it feels good to vent every once in a while.

The country’s circling the drain and nothing can be done about it.

Clinton was easier to impeach because he was caught, dead to rights, committing personal crimes then using the power of his office to obstruct justice and cover it up.

Obama may have abused the powers of the office, but it was to the furtherance of policies, partisanship and ideology. Not to his direct personal benefit, as was the case with Clinton (and Nixon, for that matter).

The arguments Dems will make in defense is that Obama 1) wasn’t exceeding the parameters of the office and 2) was only doing it for the public good.

That’s a heck of a tough defense to beat, particularly in front of a highly apathetic public.

Understand, I’m only speaking here from the perspective of political mechanics. And impeachment is an inherently political act. It should only be done if there’s good evidence that the good done by it (and good can be done, even if there aren’t enough votes to remove) will exceed the harm.

Right now, I don’t see that kind of return. I think Impeachment would be an absolute disaster for Conservatives, mobilizing a somewhat demoralized opposition and ticking off a wary/apathetic public that would be receptive to arguments based on economics/bread and butter issues.
