NEW YORK (Reuters) - Former U.S. Secretary of State and Nobel Peace Prize winner Henry Kissinger underwent heart surgery at a New York City hospital on Tuesday and was resting comfortably, hospital officials said.
Kissinger, 91, underwent an aortic valve replacement procedure, according to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

He must have Obamacare or else he would have been given aspirin and told to go home and die.
Ridiculous....bet he’ll be dead in a month.
We can only hope that this evil man will die shortly!
I thought that IS Obamacare.
My bad. ;-)
Didn’t know that the old incompetent, Vietnam betrayer had a heart. Must have been made in Red China.
I didn’t know he was still alive.
How can the doctors operate on something Henry doesn’t have?
Hey, it’s his money, but really, at 91 WTF is the point?
He must have private insurance for life! I hope my medicare will cover me in a few years in my 70s.
Honestly, this is one of those "I thought he died already" revelations - like all those people who remember Nelson Mandela dying in prison.
I thought I saw a photo of Kissinger and Putin greeting on here a day or two ago.
I missed it. It's so weird. I remember the photo of his F2F with Sarah Palin, but then remember him dying about a year later, and all the leftist rage and dancing on his grave comments coming out. I must have dreamed it.
My mom was 90 when she began to slip.
She had Medicare, obviously, plus complete coverage of the 20 percent non-covered piece via a Farm Bureau/Blue Cross-Blue Shield.
For a year after she passed, we got statments from various health agencies and hospitals marked 100 % paid by BC-BS.
I’m sure it’s paid for by China, since he’s Chinese property.
Thanx. Blue shield is my supplemental.
He is a man of great intelligence and ability....not always used to the best ends IMO.
Regardless, best wishes to Henry and prayers for a speedy recovery.
ObamaCare would have refused the treatment on the basis he was to old and is collecting SS, therefore he must die.
The damn thing must be like a slab of beef jerky by now.
Good luck getting that procedure at 91 on Obamacare
You sound like Obama.
I hardly consider him evil. I assume you’re being sarcastic.
Bravo. That’s serious surgery, not only because he’s 91. Thanks ConservativeStatement.
A little different respect level than when he greets the Hero of Benghazi
Kissinger always liked the girls.
I remember one comment he made which will probably eventually be considered a classic. “Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac”.
Yeah - that’s the driver of prison rape.
Late ‘70’s I was aquinted with some bizarre end of the world type Christians. One was convinced 1984 was the end and that Henry Kissinger was the anti-christ.
He may have been brilliant but so is a 100 Watt bulb
However, his “Ability” was to sell out So. Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos to Hanoi and Red China. I got it from people on his staff.
He was “Eurocentric” and didn’t give a damn about Asians.
In fact, the man who brought him to DC from Harvard, Prof. Fritz Kraemer, long regretted doing that once he saw which way Machiavelli was going.
Fritz was a longtime acquaintance of mine.
The evil and anti-Christs never die young. Some probably just keep buying or stealing any new organs they might need.
I read somewhere that Putin has been meeting with Kissinger at least once a year since the financial crash in 2008.
Yeah I though K was doing consulting in China and Russia.
He is a traitor!
absolutely. in the same category as jane and john
Henry got a hug out of it.
When I was forced off our (small) company plan and onto Medicare, I signed up for a Blue Shield Medicare Advantage program at $51/mo plus the cost of Part B.
Last winter, I caught a leg infection and went to the doctor for the first time in a while. Leg infection was resolved with the usual antibiotic course. But Doc thought he heard something when he listened to my heart. Almost $3400 in tests. BC/BS hammered it down to $567, of which I had to pay ... $20.
So what did it really cost? Damned if I know! There was some fancy equipment involved, together with two or three hours of non-Doc tech labor.
A month would be a "decent interval"
When I had my five way they kept me in cardio icu for five days while the blood thinners left my system, then four more days recuperating. $250,000
Bs pick up the entire tab.
I told them let me go home and sit for the five days. They said no I might have a heart attack.
They’re not bizarre. Dr. K is the anti-Christ and David Rockefeller, 98, is his boss.
They were always there and will always be there.
Think of them as a 1993 Honda Accord with 650,000 miles needing a fusible link.
Bravo. Thats serious surgery, not only because hes 91.
Used to be they wouldn’t do an AVR on someone that age. Most likely he had it done by catheter, which is a fairly new procedure.
John Glenn had an aortic valve replacement last May at the age of 92.
Read this article and let me know if he fits the definition of evil.
I hate it when people get old and die. I thought Henry Kissinger was going to live forever. He certainly had a way with the ladies. Kind of like a Benjamin Franklin thing going on there.
