Detroit Police Chief: Armed Citizens Making Detroit Criminals Think Twice
Breitbart ^ | 16 Jul 2014 | AWR Hawkins

With robberies in Detroit down 37 percent compared to figures from this same time last year, Detroit Police Chief James Craig says the increasing number of armed citizens is making criminals think twice before attacking. In other words, more guns are equaling less crime. According to The Detroit News, in addition to the reduction in robberies there has been a 22 percent drop in "break-ins of businesses and homes" and a 30 percent decline in carjackings. Craig says these across-the-board reductions in crime are at least partly attributable to "criminals being reluctant to prey on citizens who may be armed." He added, "I can't say what specific percentage is caused by this, but there's no question in my mind that it has had an effect." The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence's Josh Horwitz disagrees with Craig. Horwitz says his gun control group's position is that "more guns equal more crime."

Having been a resident of Minnesota, I have found Minneapolis police to be completely useless. Now one of their chiefs is in San Antonio, TX, and the rank and file are complaining about him forcing liberal ideas.

I like this Police Chief, he seems to be one of the few people in Detroit who has his head on straight.

“Leftists have an annoying habit of confusing their assertions with actual fact....”

.
Say it with gusto: “They lie”.

How else can they get their agenda across?

That would be Bill McManus. Y’all are stuck now with Janeé Harteau. Another political correctness type.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig would make a good speaker at the next NRA convention.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig’s going to turn that city around... Unlike Chicago where the idiots are working on passing another 300 anti-gun laws.

I would bet he is a Christian man, also. Courage of convictions leads men to stand against foolishness masquerading as enlightenment. This man is standing tall ...

Story in the Washington times.

Detroit police chief says armed citizens are curbing crime

Detroit resident Al Woods, a self-described former criminal who is now an anti-violence activist, told The News that he agrees that criminals are thinking twice about targeting innocents.

“If I was out there now robbing people these days, knowing there are a lot more people with guns, I know I’d have to rethink my game plan,” the 60-year-old told the paper.
