Detroit Police Chief: Armed Citizens Making Detroit Criminals Think Twice

With robberies in Detroit down 37 percent compared to figures from this same time last year, Detroit Police Chief James Craig says the increasing number of armed citizens is making criminals think twice before attacking. In other words, more guns are equaling less crime. According to The Detroit News, in addition to the reduction in robberies there has been a 22 percent drop in "break-ins of businesses and homes" and a 30 percent decline in carjackings. Craig says these across-the-board reductions in crime are at least partly attributable to "criminals being reluctant to prey on citizens who may be armed." He added, "I can't say what specific percentage is caused by this, but there's no question in my mind that it has had an effect." The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence's Josh Horwitz disagrees with Craig. Horwitz says his gun control group's position is that "more guns equal more crime."

Chief Craig has restarted the stop and frisk policy in Detroit and for the most part people are happy with it.

He ended that idiotic virtual precinct crap that meant a fully staffed precinct during low crime hours and closed during high crime hours. He’s also gotten the response time down from an hour to an average 10 minutes.

This is impossible. I grew up in Chicago, and if you ask any Democrat in town they will tell you this is Fox channel propaganda.

Only if all guns are confiscated will gun deaths be reduced. This is the Given, Revealed Truth, and only Tea Party zealots would dare question it.
