I’m waiting for Air New Zealand to resume those overflights of Antarctica they once had.I’d pay serious $$$ for such a flight...as long as they promised not to fly into any mountains.
Auckland: A city between two harbors set on 52 dormant volcanic cones; guests will stay three nights at SKYCITY and enjoy a half-day Auckland City Revealed tour;
Dart River: A spectacular filming location of the Forest of Lothlorien which offers stunning views of Mt Earnslaw;
Lady Knox Geyser: New Zealand's largest boiling mud lake with colorful volcanic craters, and boiling hot springs;
Matamata: A full-day Hobbiton movie set and farm tour of the Shire from Middle-earth, which was built on a picturesque 1,250 acre farm;
Milford Sound: A relaxing full-day nature cruise with spectacular views of waterfalls, mountains, and wildlife;
Queenstown: Spend four nights at Heritage Queenstown and venture on a half-day Safari of the Scenes;
Wellington: Discover where Frodo recovered from his knife attack, the Anduin River where Aragorn was washed ashore after the attack of the Wargs, the Gardens of Isengard, the site of the Orcs Felling The Trees and where Gandalf rode to see Saruman; two nights at the Copthorne Hotel Wellington Oriental Bay.
* Prices are quoted in USD and are applicable if booked before July 24. Single supplements apply. Travel dates are from July 24 to September 21. Black-out dates may apply. Accommodations, flights, transfers and excursions are all-included. Departure is from Los Angeles.
Really not that bad for $4200 per person.
Does New Zealand have a lot of good looking women?
Does New Zealand have a lot of good looking women?
Can you ping me later if you find your answer ?
Just curious, over flights to where?
That's going to be tough. The attack would have been hundreds of miles from the Anduin.
In the late 70's Air new Zealand had flights from New Zealand to Antarctica which isn't *that* far if you look at a map.They were overflights...they didn't land...and IIRC the whole thing,from takeoff to landing,was something like 10 to 12 hours.But one of those flights crashed into Mount Erebus killing everybody on board.Visiting Antarctica...or at least seeing it from the air...is tops on my bucket list.
