Brave moggy Smudge leapt into action when three older and bigger boys pushed little Ethan Fenton to the ground.

The tabby cat pounced on the chest of one of the bullies and its actions left them so scarred they ran away crying.

The bullies had targeted Ethan and his two-year-old brother Ashton while they were playing in their front garden.

Well, he isn’t mean towards his owners, just their enemies... Sounds good to me!

I have rescued a cat that had been abandoned in a cat carrier with no food or water for several days. She has blossomed in the past several weeks and is the sweetest little soul!

I am betting those punks had to go change their nappies after their bad decision.

Glad you found that poor little kitty before it was too late.

Do you notice how much this cat resembles Tara, the cat who saved the boy from the neighbor’s dog a few weeks ago? Interesting that they’re both brown tabbies. One of our four cats is a brown tabby, and she’s a real pistol! Maybe it’s a color thing. :)

“Maybe it’s a color thing. :)”

Now we must not be discriminatory! ;)

I confess. I don’t like cats.

But we had one that won my heart. We live in heavy hardwood forest. My daughter found a tiny kitten in a tree in the forest near our home. Brought it home, was the best cat ever.

It thought it was a dog.....would come when you called it, take walks with you, had a lot of traits unlike any cat I’ve known.

Cat’s BF was our collie (we are on our 5th). Collie of course huge next to the cat.

One day a semi-wild dog came out woods and viciously attacked our collie. Because the collie was very mild-mannered, the other dog wild, it was winning the battle even though much smaller than our collie. Tore a 6” gash in the collie’s hind leg.

The cat saw the attack, and lept into action. Ran to the attacking dog, jumped on it, ripping the attacking dog with his claws and drove it away!

Never seen anything like it......Black & white, kids named him “Cookie” as he looked like an Oreo......loved that cat......

What is the origin of calling cats “moggies” in UK English?

A moggy actually is a mouse, so a cats was called a moggy catcher. Over time, the “catcher” part has been dropped.

Thanks. I’ve wondered that, too, and never bothered to find out. Now I know.

What kind of “boys” attack 2 year-olds? Why can’t they be castrated for that?

Those silver tabby cats are just great. The one I have now chased a friend out of the house. He (my cat) is now known as Kujo. And don’t ever let him get you in what I call the “death grip”. He latches onto your arm with his teeth, sinks in the front nails and then shreds you with his back paws. But he’s the sweetest pile of fur you could ask for. Sleeps with his head on the pillow right above my head and always has to have a paw on you. Usually right on my head. Snores and purrs like the dickens. Just don’t test kitty’s patience!

I’ve had two attack cats in my lifetime. One female brown tabby and the next one was a male brown tabby that I adopted from the local shelter. I had to go through a 2 hour interview to get him as he had been returned 3 times prior. I walked in that day to the shelter, sat down in the free range room. Spotted the big handsome guy, but he proved hissy on approach. About 20 minutes later he was purring and in my lap as sweet as could be. The shelter workers told me that wasn’t his real personality and history. I brought him and kept his shelter name...Krueger, after Freddy Krueger. LOL. He was the very best cat I’ve ever had. Others might have a different impression, but dang don’t come to my house and start fussing...you’ll upset Krueger. LOL.

Ah, sort of like how "torpedo-boat destroyer" became simply "destroyer".

We had a big (20 lb) blue Persian male who was very tolerant of dogs, as long as they didn’t bark at him. If a dog came up & barked, he’d leap on them and then chase them down the road a ways. His name was Sebastian, & a really sweet old kitty.

I am very biased and discriminating towards tabbies. Here is my sweet one "Stripes" showing off her cavity free choppers. photo 3f018037-719f-4755-8feb-4cbaba96be69_zpse82dd027.jpg
