A 400-pound asthmatic Staten Island dad died Thursday after a cop put him in a chokehold and other officers appeared to slam his head against the sidewalk, video of the incident shows.
I cant breathe! I cant breathe! Eric Garner, 43, repeatedly screamed after at least five NYPD officers took him down in front of a Tompkinsville beauty supply store when he balked at being handcuffed.
Within moments Garner, a married father of six children with two grandchildren, stopped struggling and appeared to be unconscious as police called paramedics to the scene. An angry crowd gathered, some recording with smartphones.

But, but... the police are on our side...
In before the badge worshippers.
If he broke up a fight that means he was doing the job of the cops. That’s a big union no-no!
Died from being in a chokehold... so it comes down to being strangled by cops.
Did they shot his dog afterwards?
Do cops really need to manhandle a 400 guy?
I don't understand. Cops must really wimpy these days.
Murder plain and simple. Midget cop all tatted up like the thug he is.
No surprise here. As the government get bigger and more out of control so does its armed enforcers. Inevitable. Will get worse.
No they said he was selling UNTAXED cigarettes. In other words the lefties didn’t like it that they couldn’t steal money, so they killed him.
Yet they do nothing about the Lawbreaker-In-Chief...
May the widow sue their asses off! If the damn government kept their noses out of people's business, they wouldn't have to worry about cigarettes. Damn, the mob has been doing it for years.
What is up with that skinny little tattooed wanna be thug? I'd have to laugh at him, if he said he was a cop.
Evidently the man was known to police for selling untaxed cigarettes, and he got upset when police approached him and began questioning him about that. His breaking up a fight earlier had nothing to do with it.
It seems to me like this is a case of the cops arresting a man on the charge of resisting arrest, if you know what I mean.
Note the tattooed appearance of the “cops” who strangled him. Cops are turning into nothing but thugs in this society.
Maybe the hippies in the 60s had it right by calling them “pigs.”
Can a 400lb. man put his hands behind his back? I think they were asking the impossible from him.
I was a criminal justice major. I have known a fair number of cops. Most of them were good guys. Some of these cretins becoming cops now, I wouldn't hire to watch the hen house. (I'm 50, to give perspective).
The thing is, I don’t see any cigarettes on him. They said he just broke up a fight and then the cops came up and accused him of trying to prevent the state from stealing money from cigarette sales so basically they killed him. Gotta get that money for illegals and welfare breeding cows!
They can’t / won’t / too chicken / to go aftert he really bad guys. They have to excersize their POWER and CONTROL over jaywalkers, smoke peddlers and all kinds of assorted other meaningless and victimless offenders to stisfy their needs.
Chalk up one more thing to add to the list of capital offenses:
Camping without a permit
Walking with a bb gun
Sitting on a bench
I am reminded of Cartman fro South Park- "Respect my authority". That made me laugh and these clowns make me laugh.
How long before people have had enough and start shooting back? Wonder if the cops will regret their gangsta thugging persona's then?
