Multiple Lovers, Without Jealousy
The Atlantic ^ | July 21, 2014 | Olga Kazan

When I met Jonica Hunter, Sarah Taub, and Michael Rios on a typical weekday afternoon in their tidy duplex in Northern Virginia, a very small part of me worried they might try to convert me.

All three live there together, but they aren’t roommates—they’re lovers.

Or rather, Jonica and Michael are. And Sarah and Michael are. And so are Sarah and whomever she happens to bring home some weekends. And Michael and whomever he might be courting. They’re polyamorous.

That three moonbats in Northern Virginia want to play make believe all the day long bothers me not at all. I don’t care who they are and what they do in private. Unfortunately, it never ends there with these people. Their fragile psyches demand that society embrace their behavior to the extent that we must make it mandatory and have practical exercises in schools so that children can learn the joys of the progressive lifestyle.

However happy and free of jealousy these three may be, they are the exception to be sure. Relationships are complicated and exponentially so when more than one male and one female are in the mix. Let’s check back with the happy godless souls in about three years and see how both their business and their home life is going.

[ Maybe it’s just me, but do the people in the article come across as totally narcisstic and selfish? ]

There is a certain amount of “docsonnectedness” one has to have in order to “make it work” because they have to basically disconnect themselves from a certain part of their OWN human NATURE...

Multiple Lovers, Without Jealousy,

They can repeat that lie a million times but it still won't be true.

Wait until one introduces a scathing case of crabs into the mix....then sparks will really fly.

Why not? I mean if they allow gays to marry why not allow everything else?

The title is absolute rubbish. These are sex junkies not lovers. Once again the scum villainy in media tries to kidnap the common sense of terms.

Seems to me if the cohabitation laws haven’t been enforced in decades we pretty much have had polygamy for a while. The only difference is they will be able to punish you for not accepting it when it is officially accepted in the state’s definition of marriage. In a certain sense serial civil divorce and remarriage is kind of like polygamy in slow motion, especially when the same people keep marrying and divorcing each other.

Ha, promiscuous, exactly. Nothing to brag about. CERTAINLY nothing to write about. The Atlantic must be desperate for copy.

Very animalistic. They could be a group of monkeys.

The real problem with this story is not the deviancy of these sickos - there will always be some deviants in society. The real problem here is the author’s comment (re mulling of a possible conversion), which reflects how our society not only fails to abhor and reject such deviancy, but in fact elevates it to being on some kind of plain where it is not only enjoys the status of a moral equivalency, but also one of being enviable.

bump

We need the deviants stuffed back into their closets, mostly ignored and abhored by the rest of society.

That would be much more healthy for civilization. I don’t think it can survive celebrating deviancy as moral very long.

It’s called fornicating.

I don’t know why lust is considered the pinnacle of our society, but it is.

You are right. Not a situation that will last forever and eventually when someone really starts to care about someone, the jealousy will hit the fan.

This “swinging” garbage got started in the late 60’s with the counterculture revolution, then spread quickly to the suburbs. Lasted throughout the Sordid Seventies then kind of burned out during the Reagan years.

But, it’s baaaaaaaaaaack! New & improved.
