Limbaugh Takes Opportunity To Jibe Birchers/Larry McDonald During MH17 Monologue...
07/21/2014 | Rush Limbaugh

"So the conspiracy theorists, the Birchers thought that the Russians, the Soviets, shot it down 'cause the guy was right and he was hot on the trail of the global conspiracy and the New World Order and -- (interruption) Larry McDonald was his name, that's exactly right."

perhaps i missed something else (reminds me of the bewilderment felt upon learning rush was pro nafta...) about rush, but what purpose does it serve limbaugh to go out of his way to throw *supposedly* (only know what i've read about them online, which typically reflects that their opponents seem to fall in line with the left/regressive minded folks) fellow constitutionalists under the bus during an otherwise good monologue about mh17?!?!~

There was a lot “weirdness” surrounding the shooting down of that Korean Air Flight...

That being said, weird stuff does occasionally happen in this world...

Buckley threw Birchers under the bus back in the 50's.

The Birchers need to stay run over.

Anyone can take a stand on the shoot down, which of course, is a horrible event.

But what happened is an open question. How could any one of us around here can have all the facts? It seems a perfectly logical, if wildly unpopular theory that the Ukrainians may have shot down the plane, possibly because they mistook it for a supply flight to the 'rebels.' Are we supposed to decide who the bad guy is in a whorehouse fight?

The administration's completely feckless response and bullshiite posturing is no help, and may in fact have undesirable consequences.

The basic scenario of what happened is not an open question. There are electronic intercepts of conversations between the pro-Russian forces in Eastern Ukraine and their GRU handlers in Moscow. These intercepts show them discussing the fact that they had just shot down a plane “they thought was a Ukrainian military cargo aircraft but after inspecting the crash site it turned out to be a civilian airliner”. That alone is proof of who shot it down. The GRU officer told the Ukrainian separatists that the first cover story would be that the aircraft was carrying spies. How ironic, that was the same first story the Russians used back in 1983 after they shot down Korean Air Flight 007, amazing how history rhymes and tends to repeat itself. There is also satellite intelligence that is said to have detected the missile launch and tracked it’s heat plume right to MH17. No there is no doubt about which side shot down this aircraft, the only open question is whether Moscow knew about the targeting of a civilian aircraft and/or if Moscow actually ordered the firing of the missile at a civilian target.

I am well aware of what is on the internet. Let's say I am convince-able, but I am prepared for surprises.

No there is no doubt about which side shot down this aircraft, the only open question is whether Moscow knew about the targeting of a civilian aircraft and/or if Moscow actually ordered the firing of the missile at a civilian target.

OK, sounds like it happened in the way you describe, insofar as those who release this information to us wish to describe it. What should the US official reaction be?

well, partisanship aside (there seem to be plenty of lefty republicans competing with lefty democrats), after just watching this video clip he seems to be further right (i find it creepy/disturbing that the founding fathers might be considered extreme/radical right by even so called ‘conservatives’ these days...) than just about any representative of either contemporary party:

lol, maybe it’s more a cabal than conspiracy, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to observe the movement to supplant our constitution, culture, and national sovereignty with a... erm... ‘more diverse, global governance’... ;P

Barry Goldwater use to speak often of the NWO conspiracy; wrote about it in one of his books—Conscience of a Conservative.

if that’s what obstructs regressivism, so be it - off to check what the synonyms are for enlightenment, liberty, etc. - maybe that’s what has some supposedly stemming from the right side of the isle a tad confused...

Kenny Bunk,
Sorry it took me so long to reply. You asked how I thought the US should respond: I think the US response should have been to start supplying the Ukrainians arms and Intel so they can defeat the Russian backed separatists in the east and eventually take back the Crimea. The US should also restart the ABM defense system that Obama abandoned in Eastern Europe and President Obama should be rallying the Western Allies and NATO to back Ukraine to the hilt in a coordinated diplomatic offense designed to isolate Russia diplomatically on the world stage. Of course none of this will happen because it would be in the US’s best interests to have such a response but our current President does not believe in acting in the best interests of the US.

Best Regards

Thanks Fats. I happen to agree, especially about the NATO part.

Over the past week or so, the Ukrainians appear to have gained the upper hand militarily. So, the ball is now more firmly than ever in Putin's court. Unfortunately, winter is on the horizon and he has his hands on Europe's gas valve.

The problem with having Nelly in the WH is that he is liable to dither us into a real war, rather than take a firm stance on anything.

Is this a wartime leader?

You asked, rhetorically I’m sure, “Is this a wartime leader?” Obviously the answer is no he is not. What he is though may be termed as a “Get us into another World War leader” LOL

I’ve not yet figured out whether Obama’s two pronged strategy to destroy the Western Alliance of retreat geopolitically, and at the same time, diplomatically, to ignore our allies and help our enemies. All the while pursuing domestic policy attacking the Constitution and the Republic’s founding traditions, and he not only planned, but is also aiding and abetting the ongoing invasion of our across our unprotected southern border. He is, succinctly put, attacking the very Constitutional foundations and traditions of our republic. So the question really is: Will Obama’s foreign policy trigger another world war, or will his domestic policies trigger another American civil war? Or Both? Which will come first?

What say you? (Said in my best Bill O’Baxter voice)
