She should look at this as an opportunity. Get the NCIS scripwriters to come up with a plot in which she is attacked and ends up in the hospital. Use some CGI cosmetics to give her something like her usual look.
When Edward Woodward had a heart attack during mid-season production of popular show The Equalizer, they initially wrote him out of the script by writing that he had been kidnapped. When he was still mostly bedridden, they did a rescue scene in which he was carried around on a stretcher for a short distance, to conclude the two or three parter.
More to the point, when shooting the original Star Trek show, William Shatner was stung by a wasp on the eyelid, and they had to be very crafty, and use a ton of makeup, to hide it.
This kind of thing can be set off by an allergen overload at seasons of the year. Some people have scalp itching after eating strawberries, for instance, which are plentiful in the summer — add a big dish of them to an incipient dye allergy, and whoosh. Off she went. Shellfish are another trigger.

I had a friend who had to go to the hospital from hair dye. And I think she was even using something natural because she knew was alergic to the chemical stuff.
I would ONLY have my hair dyed in a Salon, but my mom and a different friend used to do it themselves all the time.
This poor lady is deathly allergic to gluten and a host of other things, just like my daughter. Both learned the hard way that gluten is in a lot of makeup, too.
