"a group of geckos sent into space to reproduce may be at risk. The five lizards - four male and one female ..."

She was doomed from the get-go. Seems to me that four females and one male would have been the better mix ... or were some of them gay?

"Not sure I like those odds."

Once again sexism rears its head. Four males and 1 female gecko? Poor harassed female, Female sexuality is less important than male sexuality, not fair to females?

This sounds like one of the many ill-advised ‘studies’ conducted by this government.

I presume that the guy’s names are the Russian equivalent of “Gordon 1”, “Gordon 2”, ... but what is her moniker?

I think we ought to start catapulting PETA members into space to rescue them.

That feisty female gecko is “Grusha,” or would be if I were naming her. It is a pet form of Russian “Agrafena,” meaning “wild horse.” Grusha Gecko has a nice ring. Maybe she trampled all the Gordons.

You might find one you like better at http://www.20000-names.com/female_russian_names.htm

"This sounds like one of the many ill advised 'studies' conducted by our government."

Hope this doesn't give them any ideas. I'm sure we have 2 or 3 trillion dollars laying around D.C. to finance our own study.

Then again , they can observe the politicians, if they want to research the sex lives of lizards. They just need to find a way to launch them all into space.
