We often got the silent treatment from our cats when we returned home from a trip.
When we took our in 7th stray cat, one of the others decided it was too much for her. She packed up her stuff and moved to the people who lived behind us. For a while after she moved, she would sit in the middle or our back yard with her back to us. When we would call her to come in the house she would run back to the neighbors. She never moved back home.
The saddest tale I can tell is about one of our JRT’s She ate something toxic and her liver was failing, I had signed up for an art workshop and had to leave.
I had done nothing but care for her for the 2 weeks she had been sick, doctors visits and meds. I left a very sick dog for a week.
When I came home the first thing I did was pick her up and hold her in my lap. After about 30 minutes, she took a deep breath and died in my arms.
She waited to die so she could see me one more time, I am convinced of that.
What a sad story; but what a great love. RIP
