Man Says Police Wouldn’t Let Him Help His Dog After They Shot It
Daily Caller via Yahoo! News ^ | 7/26/14

Theall told the TV station that he is less angry about the shooting since the officer was likely surprised. But what did upset him was the officer’s refusal to let Theall and his wife take Doctor for treatment for more than an hour.

The officer even twice used his police cruiser to block the man from getting help for the dog, Theall claims.

“No steps were taken by DeKalb police whatsoever to try to save my dog’s life,” he said.

“The dog was still alive, clearly bleeding like crazy and the police officer blocked my exit,” Theall continued.

“Finally he convinced me that I would be thrown in jail if I didn’t just stay where I was.”

She also said that the police officer who pulled the trigger said that animal control were on their way to assist Doctor.

“I find out that animal control was told to come pick up a dead dog and had no idea about the dog needing help,” wrote Theall’s wife.

A DeKalb County police spokesman said that he understands the couple’s frustration but that police officers kept Doctor at the scene in order to preserve evidence of the shooting.

It must not count at the precinct if the dog doesn’t die...

I have got to the point where I just lump them all in together. Americas largest THUG GANG, with a get out of jail free card. Now if see a cop bleeding and pleading in the street I will just figure “to bad, so sad”, probably had it coming for all the crimes he or she committed under cover of authority.

So if I ever see a police officer shot, I shouldn’t call an ambulance - I should leave him at the scene to preserve evidence of the shooting? Got it. “

That’s exactly how I will handle it. Thanks to the DeKalb cops for the tip.

There will, inevitably, be the following type of situation(s) here in the United States if this trend of police militarization and tyranny continues to accelerate:

Graphic warning: 4GW in Chechna.

Do not watch if you have a weak stomach or are sensitive to violent material.

The thing about this video that I find notable is not the shooting itself, but the extremely calm and collected action and body language of the shooter immediately subsequent to it. That, to me, reads out a planned stop and search, and it wasn't a split decision on the part of the detainee but a planned killing.

Fire twice and go home. We've all heard that, right? No more free Wacos. We've all heard that, too. Lots of talk and bluster, and sometimes everyone on both sides forgets what it really looks like.

Graphic warning: This is what Waco looked like.

If the latter takes place here again... who would argue odds against the former taking place here as well?

There's one thing that would immediately lower the hostility between the People and the State... and that would demonstrate that law enforcement is in fact not viewing the citizenry of the nation as an enemy of said State:

Disband your paramilitary units. Divest of your military equipment including shock troop gear, heavy weapons and armored vehicles. Announce fealty to the People and publicly reaffirm your oaths to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution that is the agreement by which said People give their consent.

Follow the example of the police in the Ukraine who begged publicly on their knees for forgiveness from the People.

Graphic warning: Display of moral character by law enforcement

Anyone think the Albuquerque Police Department has it in them to perform an act of contrition like this? How about the ATF? What about Lon Horiuchi, did he apologize? Let's see Louis Freeh demonstrate remorse. Perhaps the US Marshal's Service?

Excuse me while I snort cynically and don't invest in waiting for that to take place. It won't take place until they have learned the hard way.

And by that point, if history is an accurate guide, the kneeling is usually not while begging forgiveness but while saying goodbye. The Ukrainian police were lucky.

Just my observational $.02 only.

You need to double-tap a thread to be sure....

I often watch the TV show Cops; that I rarely see anything that could be construed as police miscoduct leads me to conclude two things; first, cops are on their best behavior when on camera; and second, any instance of misbehavior ends up “on the cutting room floor.”

Remember when the little girl in Detroit was killed by a flash grenade? That was to be an episode of COPS (or one of it's imitators). In fact, the speculation was that they threw the grenade to make the footage more dramatic.

Alas, we'll never know for sure, because all the film was mysteriously destroyed.

I’d like to see a chronological marathon of COPS and see if it’s the cops’ attitudes that changed over the years, or mine. Because, 20 years ago, I really loved that show and most of the cops.

I don’t know if it was the film makers, or policing, that gradually made me hate the show. The cops got more aggressive and every week they’d do a snickering prostitution sting and humiliate people on national TV.

The last straw was when they did a drug sting (St.Louis??) where they’d confiscate (steal) drug buyers’ cars and sell them. The last one they got, the cop told the lady crackhead, “Don’t worry, you’ll get your car back. It’s not worth enough for us to be interested in.”

Someone once explained to me that most of those that want to be LEOs shouldn’t while those who don’t make the best. If one would shoot my Spike they would be treated as if they shoot my son.

...those that want to be LEO's shouldn't....

Right now, in much of the country, small town cops and sherriff's deputies get their certification at community colleges, and anyone can get the certification (subject to background checks and whatnot, I assume.)

Your comment is on the money. The present system results in way too many Barney's: No where near enough Andy's.

We need all LEO candidates to be rigorously screened before attending traditional style police academies.

The community college model results in people getting the all access Billy Bad Ass license before they have ever been screened for their suitability as LEO's.
