Well, this does put an amusing slant on some of the dialog in the stories. Doyle was fond of using the word "ejaculated" when an explanation burst forth from Watson. A line from narrator Watson would sometimes read "Great Scott!" I ejaculated. I guess the modern Watson would say "Great Scott, I ejaculated!".

I am not a zoologist nor do I play one on the internet, however, I really don’t think that monkeys are totally focused on sex every waking minute. You, my friend, demean monkeys.

If you want to kill the show, by all means, have it go gay.
Actually the show is quite good, and as they said it was a running gag because Holmes and Watson lived together and went everywhere together. But just as in the books Watson gets married and Holmes is attracted to a woman. If the plot is changed to make them queer it will be too bad as I and I'm sure many others will stop watching. There is little enough actual entertainment to be found without the queers being inserted for sympathy and social engineering.

Yes, in a few cases it can work but the usual plot device of unconsumated sexual tension in series TV still rules

I found an archive of the various radio adaptations a while back, but they admittedly got old, the same stories being reworked every 10 years or so up until the 1960s.
Little late in the series for that plot twist.

Out of the millions who watch the show.... how many such “fans” are there?
They almost ruined the new Dr. Who when they made Capt. Jack Harkness gay and more. Luckily, his sexuality kinda stayed a running joke and he left the show for a spinoff. Torchwood was fine as long as they continued the joke. As soon as it went explicit, the show tanked. They tried to revive the series but couldn’t stay away from the gay crap. It tanked again. The story lines didn’t need the crap and people just wouldn’t watch it.
The media and gay community are always telling us that gays represent 10 to 15% of the general population.
It is probably more like 2% yet they insinuate their disgusting lifestyle into everything.
Again, it is a complicit media that allows this to happen. Oh, yeah, and obammy.
