Muslims are set to argue which day Eid is…right about now.
The annual argument has already begun in some parts of the world and in the UK neighbours will be debating which day Eid should and should not be.
Religious leaders and clerics will be trying their best to justify which day the moon was and was not sighted.
And things are about to get all technical.
A new survey also released today says that the Eid argument is now ranks top as the most talked about ‘Muslim front room debate’.
It is followed about ‘Is Coke Haram?’ and ‘How halal is your meat’.
Just like Christian argued about the date of Easter.
Except one God is real....
And except I do not remember Christians killing each other over this difference.

We simply fixed our calendar, going from Julian to Gregorian.
The Shia uses the phases of the Moon - which go back to the Egyptian Moon god - and stems from when Mohammed incorporated the pagan part into what would evolve as Islam...yet they what to say that it was inspired by Heaven...not plagiarized from the Torah or Bible...uhm.... And once it’s decided, the ones who lose will commence the bloodshed of the others with issues of fatwa’s.
Why would you say that? As if Christians haven't killed over the smallest things? When people are killed for ideas and faith, not actions, does the minutia of why matter?
I have no idea if Christians have killed over this specific issue, but they've killed over plenty of others. See: The Inquisition. The killing lasted from the 12th through 19th centuries. Christians and others were killed.

I'm a practicing Catholic. Pretending that Christians haven't killed over religion is dangerous and wicked. Don't pretend you're better. Know the past and don't deny it so that it is never repeated.

No its not. Easter is calculated on 2 separate calendars either Julian or Gregorian. But the dates are predictable for centuries into the future. Eid is based on whether the moon was seen or not, and not predictable.
Imagine the chaos if Christmas day could not be nailed down until Christmas Eve.....
In order for Ramadan to start and end, and Eid is at the end of Ramadan, the official observers have to actual spot the new moon. This time the Saudi observers, for what ever reason didn’t see on the expected night....
If, as President Obama has often stated that Islam has given so much to civilization, you would think that they would have adopted a standardized date based on widely available astronomical tables or developed a precise astronomical means of determining the date. Perhaps like the Nazis they are afraid it might involve “Jewish” science.

You have Easter confused with Christmas. The controversy over the date of Easter predates the Gregorian Calendar by 1300 years.
