Family Photo/Hillsborough County Sheriff Three-month-old Emanuel Murray Jr. pictured, was killed instantly after his mother's ex-boyfriend, Richard McTear, threw him out of a moving car in 2009.

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man was convicted of murder Thursday for tossing a 3-month-old boy out a moving car window along an interstate, killing the infant instantly.

According to prosecutors, 26-year-old Richard McTear attacked ex-girlfriend Jasmine Bedwell, 22, after she returned home with her son from a friend's house in 2009.

"Bedwell and the baby's father are expected to submit victim impact statements in writing that will be read during the sentencing hearing"

Mommy's new boyfriend, the worst words a child could ever hear.

That’s what folks were saying on the other thread, but this was not mommy’s NEW boyfriend, it’s was Mommy’s former boyfriend. Poor little thing, he’s very cute in the picture with the article.

Just an innocent child, no bigger than a doll.

I really hope they give the guy the death penalty.

PICK ON SOMEBODY YOUR OWN SIZE. That was always a good rule to me.

“.....it’s was Mommy’s former boyfriend”

If Mommy had been married to Daddy this would not have happened.

I note in the photograph how alert the infant was... the boy smiles with his eyes... the innate goodness of an innocent infant has been destroyed and the world is a worse off place for it.

Heartbreaking...

...but wickedness is everywhere... and this world did not deserve the gift of that child. I really struggle how to say that... I guess mostly because I have seen some fairly cruel people in the few years I have been around... people that delight in the grief and trauma of others... the world is a pretty sick place.

Yes, he does look very lively. He was probably a very smart little boy, and now he is gone. Who knows, he might have been a very ordinary person (not that there’s anything wrong with that) but perhaps he would have done great things. Or just a lot of little nice things.

I notice he was named Jr. for his father, so that betokens a degree of family commitment that is far too lacking in the African-American community these days.

But he is dead due to the malicious act of a person who had his shot at life and decided to blow it, big time.

You see, that man just does not need to live any more.

He made his contribution to the world, and it was deciding to treat a helpless, innocent child like a bag of trash.

Why, really, should he be alive even one more day?

Please, let’s not blame the mother for this crime.

There are plenty of blame worthy mothers. I’m sure another will be in the news tomorrow. But it seems like that is not the case here.

Please, let’s not blame the mother for this crime.

I'm not finding fault, but I have to find some culpability in her lack of decisive action to halt the attack before it could be completed.

The bf is a piece of trash, no doubt. But I’ll bet dimes to donuts there was ample warning about the nature of the man. This was not the sudden, out of character action of a normal, decent, loving man.

This was a feral, savage act by a violent, angry animal, and there is absolutely no doubt that this wasn’t the first she had seen of it.

She chose to take her baby into the den of a vicious beast - so yeah, there’s some culpability there.

technically, if she aborted the baby early on all this tragedy would never have happened, right?

I know in this world A leads to B leads to C etc etc....but sometimes, in the final analysis, the murderer is just a murderer...

There are sociopaths who walk among us, and they can put on a convincing act at first. They can fool many people. Or maybe this guy did seem dangerous at first. I don’t know. Whatever the case, apparently she figured it out and broke off with him.

(Rest in peace, little one, safe and sound in the arms of our Lord.)

I actually can’t top his act with a better and more fitting punishment.

Guess he’ll live out his days being passed around the jailhouse like a two bit hooker who’s rent is due...

Three months sooner and the dude would have been a “pro-choice” hero.

It was almost the perfect crime except for one critical flaw in his plan. He forgot to call the baby a fetus.
