Sunday marked the 10th anniversary of President Obama's national debut at the Democratic National Convention. He was tasked with giving the keynote address at the 2004 event.

He told a New York Times reporter the week before the convention, ''It came as a surprise that I'd be selected for such a privileged position. As my wife reminds me, I better not screw it up.''

“As my wife reminds me, I better not screw it up.”

This country is screwed beyond recognition.

That day is right up there with Pearl Harbor, The Fall of Saigon, the Iranian Hostages and 9/11 ....

I remember watching that.

His wife and kids were on stage. I could not get over just how absolutely livid and pissed off she looked the entire time.

He’s had the stage for 10 years. He’s been a huge failure.

I’m always been proud of myself for this:

I was watching Obama’s DNC speech in 2004, but when he got to the part where he spewed out all the nonsense about:

Not red states and blue states, but the United States. Not black American and White american, but one America, etc., etc., ...

or however all that Utopian nonsense went. When he got into all that, I turned off the television because he was spewing a lot of Utopian nonsense that had nothing to do with the reality of a free society where people have individual freedoms and rights to criticize their government. And there will always be disagreements and divisions in free societies.

The closest societies to what Obama was blathering about were Stalin’s USSR and Mao’s China and a few others. That’s the only place you can have all the ‘unity’ and absence of disagreement.

I knew I’d been listening to a hyper-leftist, Utopia spewing liar and he’s been making me look very wise every since that night. Unfortunately for the nation.

What’s really amazing is how some can insist that he’s doing a good job. Guess it’s just too hard for them to admit they made a mistake & he is it.

I know I retired opera singer here in Germany who speaks four or five languages beautifully whom I once asked whether he had any problems or fears about remembering the words to a song that he was about to perform. He said no it never was a consideration, he never had the slightest problem or doubt. I suppose that had something to do with this wonderful facility with languages together with his ability to capture tone as a musician which he possessed also in spoken language.

I was all the more awed by his talents because I am utterly incapable of singing any song, I cannot carry a tune, I cannot remember the words and I have no inclination to do either. I was the only child in the seventh grade who was instructed by the music teacher to mouth the words when the parents came for the actual recital. I do not listen to music radio, I listen to talk radio and have done so long before Rush Limbaugh came on the scene.

So when I heard Barack Obama make his early speeches and then gave due attention to the pundits as they explained to me afterwards what I had just seen with my own eyes, I was convinced that here was another example of my tone deafness. I just did not get it, which means I did not get Barack Obama. I still do not. I am uniquely immune to the power of his forensic performance.

Immune to his histrionics I was free to search for substance but found none and so my reaction to the early exposures to Barack Obama was that he was no threat, meaning that he could not be nominated and if nominated he could not be elected. I recite all this so that the reader is never again attempted to put any weight in my judgment about how well or poorly candidates fare in debates, a subject which I unabashedly feel fully capable of pontificating upon and often do so at great length.

I still do not know whether I was again morbidly tone deaf or whether I was on the mark and it was the media that created the myth around the man.

And that turned out to be a real disaster for America and most Americans. How did we ever elect such a big piece of trash to be President?

Just so we can frame it correctly in our memory, it was the time the MSM stopped referring to him as the Kenyan born Senator from Illinois.

Back in 2007 one of the smartest guys I know told me “the American people will never vote in a guy from Kenya named Hussein”.

In 2012 I posted on FR “the American people will never re-elect a POTUS with 8% unemployment (13% real), $4 gas, surging food prices, and trillion dollar deficits to the endo of time”

We were both badly underestimating the power of the Chicago Mob.

What else would you expect from gibmedats who are given free food, housing, healthcare, cell phones, etc...without having to work whose only real concern is where they get their next high? They don’t pay attention to what’s really going on and they don’t peel the onion back to see the lies like we do. All they do is take the MSM’s assurances that 0 is doing “great and believe their lies. We pay a lot more attention because we’re the ones that are footing the bill. I hope the MSM gets the payback they deserve when no one listens to them anymore because they are proven to be liars and their advertising revenue dries up.
