“a bit of canning” LOL, I think that’s a LOT, and I think it’s great. I also love the outhouse picture. I have four rows of green beans, each about 9 feet long. Two rows still haven’t been picked today. So far I’ve gotten about 9 pounds of beans from them, so that’s made me very happy. I’ve only canned 5 pints, but will treasure them next winter.

I'm also salvaging some lumber from the civil war era barn at GP's old place.

I'm going to build a small shed to park Mrs. Augie's collection of lawn mowing machinery. I think using the old planking to veneer the exterior will give it a nice look.

It is a filthy job taking it down but the end result should make the effort worthwhile. I hauled two loads home over the weekend and we've got the slats removed on another 12' section so that will come off pretty quickly. Probably get that little bit done this evening.

Will you be doing board on board for that shed siding?

Yep, gonna put it on the new shed same way it was installed on the old barn.

I’m thinking that I will box in with OSB and wrap with tyvek before I put the veneer on.

I got another 12’ or so taken down and hauled home yesterday.

We are still enjoying mild weather for the season, and even had some rain the last two days.

Well they weren’t very tall, but that was due to lack of progress in growth I am sure. At least they grew to a foot or more in the pots. Never got over 4 inches tall before, and no pods.

I have tried several varieties over the years. This year was Cascadia and Wando.

I have a picture and planting instructions for an herb pot of about 6 herbs. So I bought the pot, and now I’ll be getting some seeds to use.

So sorry to hear about this. So far I’ve been relatively free from problems this year. Knock on wood!

I have given up on peas, and am about to give up on melons and canteloupes.

Hubby bought a small chest freezer the other day. It’ll be ready to use tomorrow afternoon. I was hoping to buy a quarter of beed to use most of the space, but now I have nightmares about a chest full of zukes.LOL

Those looks awesome! My landlord has dictated the size, shape and number of gardening pots used so I have abide by them. I’m extremely grateful to have what I have as it is way too hard for me to not have any gardening!

I have a question about an something I discovered while getting the front of my apartment ready for pressure washing. While putting away some silk floral arrangements, I discovered on the back of one floral stalk two small light in weight and light sandy color round objects. (Think of how blueberries look but the way described above.) Because bees and wasps like building their homes on the front door and the ceiling above, I decided to crush the objects. Now I’m uncertain about what I did because after steppping heavily on the objects, there was revealed a soft, yellowish object. Would anyone know of birds or insects which build such structures and what they hold?
