Political theatre, political pain

Republicans would like the courts to order the president to enforce the letter of the law. Mr Obama has responded by imploring congressional Republicans to "Stop being mad all the time. Stop, stop, stop just hatin’ all the time."

Congress has at its disposal other, more powerful constitutionally specified remedies for unwarranted executive tinkering: lawmakers may pass a new law, withhold the funding necessary for implementation, or impeach the president.

Is the lawsuit then "political theatre", as many contend? Of course it is.

But we need The President to pass a new law and The Senate to Impeach The President. What else can Boehner do? Wait for the train wreck in November? The People have been played like pawns by Obama and they'll be behind the Dems while conservatives again sit on the sidelines when it matters the most.

I never thought I'd become a grumpy old man, but I'm nearly there.

I can’t shake the image of Boehner crying because he can’t get Obozo to do what he wants. Good grief, John! Grow a pair, take a stand for once, get off your ass and do something rather than standing in the wings wiping tears from your eyes because the Ass won’t play nice. The GOP has lost its direction and has forgotten the people who put them there. I think the voters have had it with gutless wonders like Boehner specifically and the GOP in general.

Boner knows the Court will toss his suit out. This is nothing more than a stall tactic in hopes these damn EO things will somehow disappear like the halfrican’s magic.

Boehner either has some super stealthy move up his sleeve or is turning out to be our worst enemy and one of the worst Speakers in history.

Some of the other ‘regular’ remedies are not really available to the Republicans.

a. Withhold funding. Senate won’t support any bills that don’t have the very high level of funds that are desired, and Democrats blame Republicans for the government shutdown, and the media obliges by not informing voters of the true story.

b. Add language to funding bills compelling President must follow law - and let’s assume the Senate passes the bill (like maybe after 2014 elections)....President vetoes the bill and blames Congress and Republicans on government shutdown and an obliging media helps the President. Sets up the 2016 elections to go all Democrat.

Basically - we need to try this ‘sue the President’.

BUT - we should not impeach Obama....we should start impeaching the head of the various lawless branches. Sue the head of EPA for illegal actions - pass to the Senate - ensure lots of publicity about WHY the impeachment was done and if the Democrats in the Senate refuse to convict, work hard to publicize why they are shielding someone who is killing jobs in America. Impeach the head of IRS...dare the Democrats to protect someone who illegally targets ‘enemies’ of the President (’you might be next’)...Impeach the head of ATF...and force the media to cover Fast and Furious. REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT. (Maybe at some point the public will be aware that the President is a slimy guy who has to go - but until the public sentiment is 60% or more supporting impeachment - it should be a NO GO.
