So, are we suffering from the lack of experience of an epicurian delight? (can't believe I said that)

You might as well eat a couple of donuts. Same carb count and less salt.

Personally I pour out the water then add the powder, except only one pack for two packs of noodles, plus some Sriracha hot sauce,

YEEEEAAAH BUDDY!

A buck-forty-nine at Aldi gets ya 2# of angel hair pasta. Cook up some, add a dollop of butter/oil + salt/parm and it’s not bad. 32oz of pasta goes a long way... Big Lots usually has tomato sauce 25¢/6oz can, add onion/garlic powders, etc, good for 2 or 3 servings. Cheap hot chow!

Carbohydrates are poison for humans. Doesn’t matter whether sugar, starch, beans, fruit, white, brown, refined, “whole grains,” etc., etc. etc.

I agree in general, we aren't supposed to eat the vast quantities of carbs that are in our diets. But there is a difference between types. Generally carbs mixed with fiber (whole grains, vegetables, etc.) are absorbed more slowly, and don't spike blood sugar/insulin as much as much as more refined carbs. That doesn't mean eat an unlimited amount, just that given the same amount of carbs, the less processed are better.

On sale they are about 10 cents a packet. As a student that made for a lot of really cheap meals. And they were tasty too. I agree with cutting the amount of powder in half.

Aren’t they loaded with MSG? We used to buy them until we realized our second son goes a little crazy when he eats them. Or maybe he was eating the flavor packets without the noodles. Regardless, he was such a jerk that I started reading ingredient lists of all sorts of foods. No more Doritos for him. No more Ramen. No more Takis. Etc. It made a big difference once we figured it out. Son #4 has the same problem.

“Jeez. Next thing they’ll tell me drinking tequila straight from the bottle’s not healthy.”

It’s not if it’s someone else’s bottle of Tequila.
