This is sort of a departure from the specific topic, but I have always felt that to fully appreciate the song Shine On You Crazy Diamond Pt VI - IX, you had to listen to the entire album Wish You Were Here. The second Shine On track just seemed to be an epilogue to the preceding 4 songs, fading in to start and then back out as it ended.
So it’s sort of on-topic; a song that had to be played in its entirety along with the full album to set it up.

Hallelujah has 82 verses altogether. I don’t know whether anyone has covered the entire song. I don’t even think Leonard Cohen has performed them all at one time.

I agree. I was never able to listen to just one track of a “concept album”.

Six Wives and Knights were my real intro to Wakeman.
Bit of Trivia- did you know Wakeman played keyboards on Al Stewart's Orange? Stewart seemed to work with everyone- he had Jimmy Page play lead guitar on Love Chronicles and Tori Amos did backing vocals on Last Days of the Century.

It’d be tough to play individual songs on the B side of The Cars debut album. All of the songs run together.

Tommy was a great album and probably the worst music movie of all time. I can’t believe I paid to see it five times LOL- but then, I was only ~10 years old.

Radio gets money from the AMOUNT of songs they play, which is why they cut them and only play short songs.
Why play 1 -20 minute Yes song, geting paid for ONE song when you can play 5 or 6 other songs in that same time?
The whole music business has ruined itself.
