Back in the late 50s and early 60s there was an advertisement on Chicago tv about the power company there and the lowering cost of energy, partly because of the new nuclear power plants coming online. I still remember the jingle, sung by an cartoon baby chicken, which went:

“Electricity cost less today you know, than it did many years ago. Cheep cheep, little bill.”

And Obama ran on a campaign, “I’m going to raise the cost of your electricity” and won.
