Comedian Bill Maher delivered his long-anticipated and controversial speech at the University of California Berkeley winter commencement on Saturday–and it turned out to be a rather conventional liberal address. Though much debate surrounded Maher’s views on Islam, he largely avoided the subject, instead telling students to make climate change their generation’s priority. “I hope all of you here today consider the environment to be paramount among the many challenges we face.”
Ironically, Maher would later tell students to think for themselves. “Be a free thinker. One reason our politics is so screwed up is that everyone has become so tribal. As you go down the path of life, ask what’s true, not who believes it. Be unique. Stay vigilant for busting yourself for falling into groupthink,” he cautioned. He also referred to “victims of police brutality,” drawing applause from students on a campus where protests against police have dominated public life in recent weeks.

Sometimes the word irony just doesn’t do justice.
Okay you brilliant berzerkley grads. Answer the following and we’ll talk:
1. Define the “correct” temperature range for the planet.
2. Define the “correct” humidity range for the planet.
3. Define the “correct” mean sea level for the planet’
4. Define the “correct” amount of precipitation for the planet.
5. Define the “correct” makeup of the atmosphere.
6. Define the “correct” amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.
7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.
Bill Maher could give an interesting speech on avoiding groupthink if he were able (or willing) to supply half a dozen examples of where he personally dissents from the liberal orthodoxy.
Groupthink. That’s fundamentally what liberalism is all about. Its nothing if not indoctrination, brainwashing and conformity to its orthodoxy. Its purely an emotion based ideology and anyone with different views is summarily dismissed or attacked.
Liberals are not just adherents, they are intolerant believers. If you dissent, you’re effectively excommunicated.
The main reason is liberalism, with so many people getting gov't money, who need a big gov't to legally rob and control the other people.
And the other people don't like it.
They all resort to attacking the messenger and hoping to gang up as a majority collective to destroy dissent.
Liberalism is a peer enforced belief.
The old geezer is trying to win some fans for his show now that younger leftists screaming (<- literally) heads have rendered him a has-been that is vulnerable to their wrath when he wanders off the reservation.
Our universities are a lot more about liberalism than critical thinking. Just saying.
Avoid groupthink! Fight globa- uh climate change! Police brutality! Climate change! Squawk! Police brutality! Wanna cracker! Squawk!....

Climate change is the epitome of group think.
