Yeah, that bugged me, too. Legolas’ father thought of Strider at THIS point in the story? Really? That’s something that could have been left off-screen. It’s a sign of bad writing.

I was also perturbed with the “Wile E. Coyote” level physics. Legolas running on falling bricks to get to the other side was the height of total stupidity. My wife and I just groaned.

Things were really drawn out. Dealing with Thorin’s “gold sickness” could have been handled less ham-fistedly. And titular character was hardly in it all, and involved him mostly looking at his feet and looking glum.

It’s not the worst movie. I did enjoy Bill Connolly’s character. Needed some levity in this film.

Mr. Brosnan (not “Bronson”) is a good actor, but his singing voice is
weak and reedy. Other than that, Hubby and I enjoyed Mamma Mia.
