Planned Parenthood is the nation's largest provider of reproductive health care and sex education, and it's often on the front lines of political debates surrounding abortion access and health care legislation. Working at the nonprofit organization requires a certain level of passion for these rights, says Gaitre Lorick, a senior human resources officer at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Here, she talks about how to convey that passion in an interview and get a job with the organization.
What qualities do you look for in every candidate? Two important qualities are a passion for collaborating and a commitment to being in it for the long haul. None of the things we work on here are going to get done tomorrow, and we can't get them done alone. We're looking for people with some stamina.
How often do you hire new people? We have 12,407 employees across the organization currently, and we're pretty much always hiring. Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), which is the parent organization, has offices in New York and Washington, D.C. And we're always looking for people to join our 66 affiliate offices that work on health education and political activism, and the more than 700 health centers across the country that offer treatment and services to our clients and patients.

“Come see my acrylic fetus collection.”
This is an abortion clinic dear. It’s come see my fetus in jars of formaldehyde collection. Yes these doctors have been known to keep them around too, with or without the formaldehyde.
Appeal to their sense of eugenics. During the interview mumble things like, “So many negroes. So little time.” They’ll hire you in a heartbeat.

You know what Mittens needs to do? Have a fund raiser for poor Mormons who can’t afford their magic undies.
” Two important qualities are a passion for collaborating and a commitment to being in it for the long haul.”
Same qualities required by the Mafia.
No fooling around. They have an internship program.
Do you have an internship program?Somehow this is more horrifyingly chilling than the rest of it.
Every summer we run an internship program from June to August at our national offices in D.C. and New York. Interns must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's program or have graduated in the last six months, or they must be in a master's program. The candidates we seek are either currently pursuing their studies in the area they're seeking to intern in or are very passionate about that area of work.
Can you give a snapshot of what the intern experience is like?
Each intern has the option of deciding whether they'd like their internship to be paid or for college credit. Each intern is paired with a mentor, and they visit at least one affiliate office during the summer. And all interns have lunch with our president, Cecile Richards.
Oh I saw that. Notice I did give a “barf alert”?
” And all interns have lunch with our president, Cecile Richards.”
I hate imagining what they’d eat for lunch.
It ain't the money that keeps a person out of their pants:
