passed swallow test - -tube coming out - some “real” food going in.
Someone asked her this morning if she knew where she was. She replied, “Jail.”
I have seen her strength slowly returning. She has not lost her wit and humor. She has memories of 16 days on the vent and I am hoping to help her hold on to them. These things have always been of interest to her and I hope she can bring the world something from her experience that is helpful.
My prayers for you Mrs. Don-o and you as well Mr. Don-o.
Life is mortal and can hurt pretty hard.
Spirit is immortal and has nothing but happiness.
I am happy to understand Life has become much better..

I don’t know how I missed your post for prayers for your wonderful wife, but somehow I did. I’m almost glad I didn’t see it before because I would’ve been anxiously awaiting further news about one of my favorite Freepers. I was feverishly praying while reading the updates, and I’m so relieved to hear she’s improving! I’ll continue to pray for her complete recovery.

I was able to go out to dinner for my Mama's 89th last evening. Then we all made short visits and she was adamant... I gotta get out of this bed!!!
Yesterday, she was still too weak to sit unaided on side of her bed but her will power was not there either. She cooperated grudgingly. Last evening showed me she has gained some determination. It was a huge step forward frpm when I left her to go to dinner.
DO keep praying for her.
Oh thank you so much! I will keep faithfully praying. Somehow, I just “knew” that she would come out of this! I just “knew” and I can’t say why, other than she is such a good Catholic and servant of His. Also the power of prayer and YOUR love and devotion and that of your son, too. Way too much to look forward to, and way too much living to do!
Happy Blated Birthday to your cherish Mom. Eighty Nine Years! God bless and keep here. I’m so happy you all took her to dinner!!
