If anyone is interested in the inglorious delightful job of hosting the WFTD thread once a week...Sorry, my dear. It's like being in a gang. You can't leave until we say you can leave. And we say you can't leave.

Most garages wont repair tires anymore and force you to buy a new one. They claim the plugs are unsafe. I used to use a tubeless patch if the puncture was away from the sidewall. The problem with plugs is they will loosen up and fail about half the time and nobody wants to take the risk of being sued for blowout damage.
After all, everybody wants to win the litigation lottery.

A for you! My tire shop told me that’s why they no longer plug tires.

fairly certain I damaged the sidewall from driving on it, so I doubt it will be an issue, they will need to put on the spare.

If you need to replace the tire, you will probably need to replace them all. Because of all wheel drive.

Better to hear it from a friend than a stranger.
If the tires’ radii are different, then they will spin at different rates. Which will be interpreted by the AWD and traction control as something wrong happening, which it will try to correct.

However, If you have a lever or switch that allows you to physically take the vehicle out of AWD the vehicle is classified a 4wd vehicle and you can change the two tires on an axle rather than all four on the vehicle

Near as I can tell, the 2013 Hylander has open center and front and rear differentials. It can’t be run as only 2WD.

Mine had all new tires when I got it, yet they were bald and illegal already. I know it’s annoying. It was over $600 when I was done.

I think the plan is for xshub to bring home the spare car [he has a personal car and a work car which he alternates between, two Lexi] and I will use his car and he can deal with the tire replacement issue. Better he hear it from them than from me!
