Ask to drop her off and keep her car so you won’t be stranded-nothing worse in a place with sights to see...

Thank you! I hope so many skeletons come out of the Clinton donor closet that there is no way to cram them back in.

My son is taking off work for my visit and he offered me his new car to drive, as he kept his last one so he has two. That and the fiance is off work for at least a month. I shouldn’t have to drive anywhere with all of them around. I would be nervous to drive the freeways, but there is a mission church in Freemont I would like to see. I loved the Carmel Mission when we visited there. I had always been fascinated by the Missions the Catholic Church built up the west coast.

Missions are like church time machines-I feel rejuvenated when I pray and say a rosary in the chapel of a mission.

I used to visit the missions near/in SA before we moved out here, but they are over 60 miles away now, and have become total tourist traps, as well. If I’m going to drive that far for a day of prayer and solitude, I’ll visit my favorite shrine in the valley-a convent and shrine to St. Jude with a well and spring outside a small town, and it is always serene and quiet there. Now that you mention it, I’m out of holy water from that well-my compadre likes the holy water too, so maybe we should go there and get some.

Barack will entreat and cajole
“Folks” to give up all healthcare control
To his ACA minions
But the thoughtful opinions
Point to power, not health, as his goal

He wants our health care money, enough said. We won’t count for anything when we get sick and cost him money. Go sit in the corner and die already. That will be the result.

A+++

Mary had a little lamb
as the big Bad Wolf thought to himself
I’ll cajole this girl Mary with flattery
so smooth she’ll think I want to marry
her and her little red hood

but the Big Bad Wolf thought to himself
as he tasted her chops
oh Mary, so tasty you need some flavor
here’s some salt and pepper to saute you in

the pepper made him sneeze, the salt blew
off in the breeze - Mary ran like heck
her neck to save - and she struck a match
tossed it toward the wolf - his rear blazed
as he thought - this cajole back fired
a lack luster tactic.

What does this have to do with today’s news, I don’t know.

I was out of plumbers’ tape for a little repair I’m doing tomorrow, and had to drive the 8 miles to the general store to get some-while I was there, I went to the deli and got a turkey, cheese and veggie whole wheat pita for dinner-it beat grilling in the rain, and the deli clerk crammed the pita so full of fresh crunchy veggies that I had to put the whole thing into a bowl to keep it from spilling-yum-and there was plenty of turkey and pita to mix with Husky girl’s dog food to make her very happy...

I was out tonight and left my meds on the table at a restaurant in the next county. Had to turn around and go back. RME Why was I so careless?

Bummer-forgetting something and having to drive back to get it is one of the most annoying things ever-I forgot a materials list on the counter at the lumber yard 22 miles away last year, got all the way to the jobsite, had to go all the way back, swearing...
